I was browsing the threads, and saw a mention of a "TURBO" cocktail. Never heard of it until now. Every since I got into the hobby, whenever someone talks about these styled cabinets, it's just "Cocktail Cabinet". So I would like to know what are the names to the different styles of cocktail cabinets?

I want to get this style myself. Just enough wood to hold it together, some art work space, and a good size screen. Looks a lot better in style in MHO.

Anyone know of a good priced place that sells them? LOL

I personally do not like the following: Kinda bulky ugly style, Mostly 1 player, can be 2 players, and can be played 1 way. Unlike the ones I'm after that can be played at all 4 sides. And these styles below are a wasted space. However the mr.do isn't so bad. But it's limited 1 player. It's cool to have art work flyers and instructions on the sides. But...

I also think this one below here would be awesome to have.

The wWarloards 4 player in your pic is one of the most desireable CTs in existance.

Most wanted in my opinion by collectors:

Warloards
Track & Field
Joust
Atari Football

These are all multi player CTs. I think that is the big appeal to them for collectors.

The Midway (Galaga, Ms Pac, Gorf, Tron, etc.) are the most common style for non collectors that want multies.

You're right! That warloards is a 4 player. Didn't realize it at first, hard to tell from a quick glance. When you pointed it out that it was warloards, I took a closer look and could barley see the 4 turn dials. LOL

If I had the space, like say a full basement. I would have a dedicated cocktail cabinet for a few games. However with limited space, I am getting rid of my coffee table and setting a CT in it's place.

To make it more worthwhile for cost effective and space reasons. I'm going to have it Mamed with games no later than 1989 in them, with the exception of golf games. Shooters, and old school CT type games. I have a candy cab for fighters & beat em ups.

I would also like to add a track ball in there on all player sides. So the guys and I could play golf or other trackball games while sitting on the couch drinking beers babbling about sports and/or watching them.

So a joystick 2 buttons with a track ball on all players CP.

The coolest MAME CTs for limited space IMO are the ones where there are 4 control panels. 2 each for both horizontal and vertical games. They look funny to a purist but are much more versatile that way.

There are definitely some others such as Food Fight and BattleZone (yes, both were made in CTs).

I actually dug out my Joust ct project for the 1st time in probably 5 years. It was under piles of stuff and blankets. The thing actually turned on. A switcher is hacked into it, and the original p/s board has the -5 led off. I took it out to repair. Maybe someday I'll get it finished.

I'm always impressed when I run across a CT cab that I haven't seen before, and it seems to happen more than I expect it to. I'm guessing the reason I never ran across them is due to the fact that a lot of them were in bars, and I wasn't able to spend much time in those places when the machines were released.

I've never been a fan of the "box" design. If you've ever sat at a table which has no room for your feet, you know how uncomfortable it can be. I personally like the "tiered" look of the Mr. Do CT. It tapers away from you, and still appears to leave space for your feet. A more conventional panel is all I would add to the design.

I'd love to have that Warlords, though :)

Warlords is an awesome cocktail as is 4 player Atari Football. But I think for me the grails are clearly Tank 8 and Sprint 8.

I remember seeing a lot of them when I was a kid `cause my parents took me to many, many bars and pizza parlors. :D

The cocktails I'd own if I had the room and money, and could find them:

Journey
Pengo
Q*Bert
Millipede
Thief
Defender
Birdie King 2
Tapper
Mappy

The cocktails I currently I own:

Warlords
Food Fight

Battlezone cocktail?

Stolen from another site.

Atari Battlezone cocktail prototype
I believe the owner exhibited it at California Extreme in 2003

The picture on the site no longer exist on that site
But i was able to find this one.

Nice. Those styles are not really that bad once you seen a few good looking ones that have been taken care of. Still the sizes are kinda bulky at the sides for me. But I understand why it is. Artwork/instructions & a place to put your pizza and beer while you are playing.

FYI, I haven't seen anyone answer this question for you yet, but that's known as a "Red Tent" Nintendo. There's a few for sale on here, actually. Or at least there were, recently.

LOL Thanks. But the red tent nintendo is not one of the ones I was looking for. In fact it was one of the ugly ones that were to bulky for me.

I wanted the first pic and the last pic version. The first pic is pretty common on sale sites, however they are extremely expensive because they are a xxxx in 1.
I can make my own in half the price, I just need the empty cab.

The last pic was done as a project and thrown on ebay. I would like to get a hold of the measurements or an empty cab of that so I could also make my own.

I've got 2 cocktails end to end right now. Atari and Nintendo. More of an arcade banquet table:

Cool, you got a DK with the early ROMset :D Did you add the 2nd instruction card facing player 2? Most of the ones I've seen (including mine) just have it wide open there.

Yep, I couldn't stand the emptiness, and I am not sure why player 2 wouldn't want to know how to play. I had OTT print me one up. Next is one of those "Insert Coin" arrows modified to simply say "Player 2" within the arrow.

I don't remember seeing them installed- it looks sweet!
