Picked up this cab waaaay back in January of 2012. It was a converted Williams cab with Marvel vs Capcom installed in it. Very little of the original wiring was left. It was completely jammatized. Over the years I've been collecting parts , while it's sat in a corner. About two years ago I stripped it down, painted it and started stenciling and decided I didn't like how it was turning out. So it sat even longer. I only have the recent pics as of now. I started this project two phones ago so the original tear down and restore up to this point is a mystery. If I find them I'll add them.

This is probably the third time I've painted it to this point.

Somewhere along the line I picked up a NOS marquee.

This 34 year old paper had me slightly worried. I decided to go with the pot of boiling water trick.

This thing was almost perfect. A couple little pinholes in the black and that's it. Easily fixed with a couple dabs of black paint. No scratches at all. Paper came of relatively easy.

T molding is on. Found the roll I forgot I had bought probably 3 years ago looking for something else. Too bad I bought another. Had all the metal powder coated probably two years ago. They've been sitting in a box in a closet. I'll be doing the stencils at a later time. Right now I'm just going to get it playing.

ThunderBunny, how was the control panel when you got it? Was it hacked? The brown paint looks good and the cabinet looks really solid.
The control panel was swiss cheese. It probably had 16 button holes in it. I was able to get an untouched one from a member here. Which I'm currently strippingg down.

Moving right along here. Finally stripped the control panel the rest of the way. Sanded it down and fixed a rough edge or two. It's clearcoated and ready for the CPO.

This is the part I've been dreading. Cleanup of the control panel and application of the CPO. After getting all the old glue off and clearcoating I've got the CPO on. I used a little 3M Super 77 on it just to be sure it stayed on. I have no clue how old this CPO is. It ended up off by less than a mm on the right side but nobody will ever notice unless I point it out. Other than that, it turned out great.

Nice work! You are way further along than mine. I have boxes of parts in different places, having only managed to get the cab stripped down and sanded once. I still have to do repairs to the bottom, then do another bondo pass, then sand. Then maybe I can start painting...

Finding where I put all the parts over the years was the biggest challenge. This has been 4 years plus in the making. I took this pic way back in March 2012 when I got my boardset.
