The Little Shop of Quarters - Fall 2012 update video walkthrough

Just thought I'd share where I'm at right now. Many changes are planned for this fall, but I thought it'd be good to timestamp where I'm at right now.

Your arcade makes my garcade look like a booth at the Farmers' Market :(

Great work. Now get in your truck and drive to MD and help me out with mine LOL

Thanks for the kind words! I appreciate it. I have big changes planned for this fall:

  • Move Ms Pac in, give it a showcase location
  • Move Playchoice in
  • Upgrade MAME cab, move it in
  • Install pub table in corner where Rolling Thunder Mame cab is now
  • Install touch screen juke/game above pub table
  • Acquire and install Coinco CT-48 wall mounted vending machine (BEER!!)
  • Finish wiring all games on X10 circuits and set up my remote
That pretty much covers the fall. Wait until you see my touch screen setup. It's pretty much da bomb.

Nice, cozy setup and good selection of games. Jealous of your coin changer, need to see how you rigged that. I'd love one.

Also would love to do the x10 remote system, but those aren't cheap.. ;)

Fixed it for you.

Nice setup!

Pinbot!! That's the other pin I really want to get eventually. It'd go great next to my Space Shuttle pin. Love how the change machine rejects quarters so you can play whatever you want. That's pretty nifty! :)

Awesome man. Great game room!

Your gameroom has come a long way. Nice work! It's the kind of room that is so awesome you can tell you wouldn't want to leave...ever

Little Shop of Quarters is an awesome arcade name!

Really great collection, thanks for the vid.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the nice comments. Yes, Allen, I'll be having a shindig some time soon here. John's party is coming up soon here, so I don't want to walk on that. I'm shooting for something in November/Dec. I need some more time to put finishing touches on the space to host people. I also need to get my jukebox system hooked up so we can have tunes. Last year's party really needed music. We actually moved my wave radio in there and put it on the snack table.

Hot! Very nice setup! The lighting and floor motif really add to the arcade ambiance.

I think I could beat that DK score... :) With any luck I'll get the plastic monitor tweaking tools in the mail soon and adjust my sanyo B+.

There's actually a really funny story about that DK score. As I said, we used that dry erase board for my first party. It really hasn't been updated since.

The DK machine was pretty much in use all night long by my 6 year old and her best friend. So none of the adults got to play it. By the time they went to bed, we were using the DK machine as a 'pass the time for 30 seconds' machine while waiting for turns on the pins. No one really played a complete game.

Once we were done playing pins, we finally turned our attention to some of the lesser played vids. The DK machine only got a handful of plays from each of us from start to finish. And we were all so drunk that none of us had any hand-eye coordination any more.

DK is REALLY hard when you see two ladders, two Kongs, two Jumpmans....etc :D

Great set up using a small area. I really like the black lighting and glow in the dark flakes in the floor....were did you get those and did you just apply them when the floor was getting redone, or afterwards?

I applied the UV flakes during the epoxy floor painting process. My painter did my floors in exchange for a 60 in 1 cab. :)

Nice one. Like the line up and the decor! If I ever do something like that I'm going to invest in a heavy duty air conditioner.
