It is at my house! Almost have everything finished on the cab, then time to bodywork it out. This is for Klover Seawolf in Chicago, his most wanted machine. Built from movie stills and a few photos of the original cab being built at the special effects company, and a little guess work.

oh, no well aware of it! Thier cabinet is close to the movie cab, but a few differences. Thier plans are almost not useable, and it only has a few dimensions. Here's two actual pics of the movie cabinet being built.

DUDE!! That is so COOL!! Tell me you are making the plans available.

That is awesome. Don't sell it to him unless he signs a contract in blood to keep us informed of the progress....:)

From what I have seen, your cabs are awesome. I just wish you were closer so I could snag a few now and then to avoid all the woodworking to save POS cabinets.

No $hit... We need someone down here with a CNC setup to crank out some cabinets. I'm going to be buying a radial arm saw probably later this year, but that will be for fixing cabinets and projects around the house. It isn't something that I am going to want to build a full size cabinet with. Of course a mini cabinet for the 7" LCD might be in order. :)

I take it you have never seen this site?

They have already done the work and have everything you would need to recreate the game.

Dr. E.A. Vance of Rogue Synapse was here in the museum last year during the filming of Altar of the Unnamed. He's a very interesting person to talk with. Wish there was more time to talk but the movie shoot consumed most of his time.

I would love to build one of those, looks like some good fun. Seriously, that is a project that has a little challenge, most cabs are so boring.

Looks Awesome. One of my all-time favorite movies and I would have killed to have that as a real game. Instead we got crappy NES games.

I would kill to have something cool like that for my home!

amazing

When you get it perfected, send one to funspot so it can be enjoyed by everyone.

You Sir , are a true Master Craftsman. nice work!

So is this a one off, or are you planning on making these for other people as well...And if so, what would the price point be on one?

Nice work Brett - I imagine that was a pretty expensive undertaking - what material did you use?

so far it's a one off machine. It is the prototype, and with everything i see where it could be better, or at least made easier to assemble! It's a mix of luan and birch, as far as price, i did it for a minty robotron fully working, + materials. I also traded a DL cab in the package. I am sure Ted will follow up on this thread once he gets it and starts the finishing. It's getting automotive paint, custom artwork, and custom one off controls made to match the movie controls. I think he's even adding the lights, etc. under the monitor. I am just about done with the woodworking, i have the top rear piece to do and ready for bondo/duraglass, and a final sand.

It looks like i just got a 20 (yeah 20) cabinet order for 10 sega cabs and 10 galaga cabs. Looks like i am busy till christmas at this point! I guess it isn't a bad thing. I have another cab idea for a "do it yourself" cab kit, using 1/4 luan for panel guides, and a routerbit with a roller bearing on it. Also, a panel that will clamp to the side of the cabinet, and have cutouts where all the pieces go, to make assembly easy. Standard Nintendo cabs are my first one planned.
