The Kong Off tickets

Hey Richie, have you expanded your space at all in the past 6 months or so? If not, how many people do you think are going to be at this? My wife and kids want to go but it seems like it's going to be packed to the gills in there(unless you did expand).

Thanks,
Jeff

Richie,
I just paypalled you for two tickets. I have been wanting to check out your arcade for a long time and this event sounds awesome!

Ok, so Anthony at QA gave me this DK cocktail converted to, of all things, a Trivia game.

My 4 year old daughter Faithie loves the cocktail games so I told her she could have it, and keep it in her room if she helps me restore it back to a DK. (she can clear the first 2 screens on her own!) here are some pics from our afternoon at "work" smile

Rich she is a chip off the old block! Pretty soon she will be putting up WR Scores for that machine in her Room!

I want to go to this event SO BAD! Unfortunately, the drive would be just too much. If i were to fly, what close major airport would be preferable? My guess is Philly, as I'm not so sure that I would EVER want to find myself in Newark. What do you think?

The airport area in Newark is not bad at all, you don't fly into the city, you basically fly into the Turnpike (route 95). There seem to always be delays for no apparent reason there though. Philly might be closer to RK's but I'm not sure.

Steve, has Richie expanded into any other space in his building? Just curious because it was a tight fit sometimes during the Invitational last fall and I can only imagine how many more people will be there for this event. Trying to decide if the whole family should make the trip or not.

Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff i have never been too Richies play other then watching on the Just tv .. But it seems like its the same place? I've been watching him on there since last Spring?

Doah! Forgot about the live feed. Will have to check it out next time it's on(maybe tonight?).

Thanks. :beerchug:

Flying into Newark isn't bad... Its a good 1hr+ drive from Newark. Its probably a tad more to Philly. Allentown may have directs to Atlanta.. not sure of the weekend flight schedule at ABE.

Just bought my weekend ticket. This will be my first time checking out Richie's arcade. Really looking forward to it.

It's a 12 hour drive for me so I think I'll start looking for cheap plane tickets.

Me and the wife will be going and I am sooooo looking forward to this. I want to thank Richie for doing this. Also, I just came home from watching Steve try to win back the DK high score. Had a good time and got a few tips from Steve tonight. All-In-All this has been a great Saturday.

No but he is going to make space via game removal for the contest.

Thanks executive boardmember Steve W.

I am meeting with the mucky mucks at Nintendo in a few weeks. The only games in the arcade will be the row of restored DK's behind a velvet rope, along the walls will be a tribute to Nintendo. Some rare titles, some not so rare (Popeye, DJKJr., Mario Bros, Super Mario etc...) the rare titles I will keep secret until the event.

My father in law owns a trucking company and we are partnering up for a new venture.
Outside in the parking lot will be my "portable" arcade.
The same peeps who will be creating this years Superbowl halftime show, "and not to mention built the Tron-Off stage" Will be helping me create a classic arcade on Wheels. 18 of them to be exact. (wheels that is)

We are hard at work blacklight carpeting, torchburning holes for windows and escape doors, sandblasting, cleaning and creating such an arcade experience for this Kong-Off that no one will ever look at our hobby as that as "for the geeks" ever again.

The assholes who created Fucking Chasing Ghosts did so much collateral damage that it will not be easy, but shit, I am almost as cocky as Billy Mitchell. If anyone can do it, why not let it be me : )

Some of us use to talk about an arcade on wheels years ago. (But it was just talk). :)

It's nice to see someone who actually undertakes these things seriously and promotes the hobby.
