The iCade is Real!

A couple of thoughts:

1. After seeing the original April Fool's joke, there was a 100% chance of this happening

2. They mention ThinkGeek as calling it an iCade, but isn't that also one of the "official" names for the 60-in-1 boards?

3. Have you seen the pinball version of this that's commercially available? It's kind of cute, but I wish they'd do one which would support Visual Pinball or something similar...

Ok that is pretty neat. The only problem is that it will wind up costing me like $600, cause I will need to get another ipad since I don't think I'll be able to steal mine back from my 3 year old :)

I thought it was cool as a joke, and now it's just AWESOME that it's real!!!

Not the same as the real thing, but for I-Pad owners, it's a fun little option.

P.S. - That dude has no idea how to play Asteroids, LOL.

give me a pre-order button. I WANT.

I almost built one last year from scratch. The issue is without iOS games that support keyboard button input it's pretty much worthless.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the 8 buttons either. Too much "fight game" in it. This thing is so small it should have stayed with three. Notice they also made the cabinet much larger than the original april fools mock up.

I really liked the original concept device MUCH better. Has more retro styling than the final product. Still an awesome item that I wish I could pick up, but the original was WAY better:

Here's the one from the Wired Mag article:

Here's what they show on the web site. Looks styled like the april fools unit, but still has the larger size cabinet and the 8 buttons:
