For anyone that doesn't have the announcement.

From JJP -------------------------------

Now that we have produced a game, the natural question we keep being asked is what game is next. I wanted to hold off on talking about the next until we had real WOZ games, which we certainly have. At IAAPA we told some customers that our next licensed game will be The Hobbit Pinball Machine and the excitement was off the charts. International distributors expressed a strong interest and some made place-holder orders on the spot.

With that, we are now accepting pre-orders for the Limited Edition version. The Hobbit Pinball Machine will be released in a timeframe consistent with the third Hobbit movie in mid 2014 as the game will embody all three movies. The first Hobbit movie release date is December 14, 2012, the date of our Open House. All of what we do on this game, as was the case with Wizard of Oz Pinball, will be based on approval of our licensor.

The game will be a full-featured wide body with the bells and whistles you have come to expect from a JJP game. Keith will be programming the game as he did with LOTR Pinball as well. More details will follow with the public announcement in a few weeks but it will not disappoint!

The Payment Schedule is as follows:

$500 - NOW

$1000 February 15, 2013 - (Price changes to $8000.00)

$1500 May 15, 2013

$1500 September 15, 2013

$1000 January 15, 2014

$1000 April 15, 2014

$1000 July 15, 2014 – As Shipping Begins

The price will change on Feb 15th 2013 if LE's are still available to $8,000.00. We expect The Hobbit Limited Edition Pinball Machine to sell out completely in less time than ECLEWOZ sold out! After all, everyone can now see the type of quality games we are building and our second game will move along much faster than our first game did and we must ship this game as the third movie hits the theaters!

If you would like to place your Pre Order for The Hobbit Limited Edition Pinball Machine, just e mail [email protected] or [email protected] and they will take your order. You can also call them at (732) 364-9900 ext 203 (Jen) ext 202 (Katie) or call me directly toll free at (800) 473-5225 if you need additional information.

How long have they been holding WOZ money? There must be pin buyers out there with enough money and faith to rival Scientologists.

WOZ shipping is projected Feb - March. Best to work the details BEFORE shipping your first game. Hobbit will be released in the time of the 3rd movie... 2014. Lots of time to get the payments saved up.

You'll regret missing it.

Well, from what I've read, WOZ is the 1st pin they're creating, selling, shipping, etc.. You'd have to expect delays, and their situation seems to cater to a wealthy/boutique/collector market, not the old business model. Not making excuses, hell, I'm not buying it, but it's incredible to see what that team has put together, and I imagine I'd expect the schedule wouldn't be solid if I were buying.

Exactly. The company started from scratch, developed all-new hardware, operating system, lighting systems, etc. And do you know how many hundreds of custom parts are in a pin? And the dozens of vendors that must be contracted to manufacture them? And the untold numbers of glitches that can happen anywhere along the way?

Forget about delays, if JJP does ship the complete games in early 2013 (just over 2 years after starting the company from scratch), that will indeed be an accomplishment. JJP was a bit overly optimistic early on when announcing their anticipated development and completion schedule.

Also, JJP has been putting a huge emphasis on quality. A gorgeous hi-res clearcoated cabinet (also finished on the inside). Non-photoshopped hi-res artwork everywhere. Full-spectrum programmable insert lighting (which means that any insert can glow with any color). New computer hardware with non-proprietary cpu (PC) board. Full-length rails under the pf, so it can be removed from the cab and set on a table. 26" LCD display. Crazy toys like a crystal ball that displays images from a small display monitor, a spinning house, custom "evil tree" pop bumper caps, castle doors that can be bashed, etc.

And with the original :LOTR programmer doing the same for the Hobbit, I think it will at least be worth serious consideration. I expect a more reliable schedule for this game, as it will be the second time around the block for the company.

I am not trying to bash or downplay JJP, but this pin(WOZ) has received way too much credit(IMO). While the artwork and "innovative" features are great, I have not heard overwhelming reviews of the people that have actually seen and played one. Yes, there are always delays on a new "prototype" from scratch, but while these delays have been going on, stern has been releasing titles that have done well on the market. I know, stern has had thier fair share of build/quality issues, but I would expect the WOZ to it's fair share as well.

I don't know, I think WOZ is gonna be pretty darn sweet...

Hey guys. I have a WOZ coming and did decide to put down the deposit on Hobbit LE. My motivations for WOZ and Hobbit are different. In retrospect, I got a good deal (obviously that's a relative term) on the WOZ. I paid $6500 for what could turn your to be the most modernized pinball machine made to date with some nice extras on top of that.

Hobbit is just speculation at this point and I may let my position go and go for a regular one down the line.

Bottom line, I'm currently a satisfied JJP customer.

Me too. I just wish they'd tease us with a bit more information right now, but I imagine it's all still in the planning stages.

woz

they should finish the woz before announcing a new pin, focus should be woz right now. maybe they are burning so much cash, they need to start getting deposits for their next project. i missed out on a woz le and might be sorry i did, but i cant see myself putting down money on a hobbit in todays economy-too many companies going under. i really hope i am wrong and would order a hobbit le only after seeing working woz being shipped to customers.

i also love the new technology and lights, but alot of bling dont make a game!

Speculation on needing or using money from #2 to finish #1 which is not a good business model but if it works then good for him. I would never jump in on a deal like that from anyone.

I purchased my FG NIB from "Jack" and two other NIB Stern titles from other places. I bailed on NIB games with my FG when the price starts creeping to 4 grand. I think the priced Stern and JJP are trying to command is insane. I wish JJP well and hope he thrives and offeres competition which is suppose to be good for the consumers.

I'm not bashing jjp and I hope his game is as great as everyone is hoping, but I don't know how you can be a satisfied customer, you haven't received a finished product?and your satisfied?so let's all go buy a car without a test drive,a house without seeing what the inside looks like, etc, etc I could go on and on.i just think we should all wait for a finished product that's been delivered.
