A couple of weekends ago Joe (KatanaJoe) and his son Christian came over to help lug the games up into the basement. I am still working out the power issues (all the f*ing outlets in the room are on one circuit, cheap builder bastards). But I thought I would post some pics.

Starting to shape up.....

The centerpiece is complete (now I really do have to paint that Bubbles back door :( ).....

My wife playing the latest addition to the game room.....

More pics once I get everything set and power run from other rooms so I can power it all up without popping the breaker....

Looking good, Ken! I can't wait to see more...

I love all the Williams' titles and the pachinko is pretty cool. Growing up we had an old-school one...nothing like the new fancy ones with the LCDs. How do they play?

Nice work!

I have been thinking about adding a pachinko but I am wondering about replay value. How do you like it and does it get much play when you are surrounded by awesome williams titles?

I have collected 13+ Pachinkos over the years. I want to put them up too, just not enough space. I guess they will end up in my garage aracde (Kudzu Arcade).

Nice line up by the way.

Thanks. I've got 5 in the gameroom. One old school (1970's) manual one, an early '80s version and 3 recent models (Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and the new one, Indiana Jones). They get a lot of play at parties. and I crank them up pretty often as well. The Indy has the GAK Trading counters and has been turned into a cyclical machine so it is very cool. It is a one of a kind that was converted by Gaku and put in a custom cabinet. I tried to talk him into building some more for my other pachinkos, but he won't do anymore. :001_scry:

looking good

Thanks. It is a work in progress.

love all those williams games! looks like a black widow in the corner too!

Thanks. Yes that is a Black Widow. I have to have something Atari since I sold the the Battlezone.

NICE! How come multiple Joust cab's?

Just because....:D Actually one has optical joysticks and the other has the regular mechanical joysticks.

Up into the basement? Don't tell me you have a sub-basement! :D

Seriously really nice!

Thanks. Here in Texas, the basement is on the second floor. If it was in the ground it would be an indoor swimming pool in no time (except this summer). Until the drought, our water table was about 16". More trees die from drowning when you plant them then from not getting enough water.

Great lineup! Looks good

Thanks. I like it.

The pachinko machines usually have a lineup around them at parties. They do so many cool things and have such great sounds that they just draw a crowd when people play them. I play them pretty often when I am home as well. One of these days I will beat that !#$%$% Darth Vader. He always kicks my ass....

Is there any notable difference in the way the 2 types of joysticks play on Joust? Not sure if I've ever played one with opticals.

I like the optical more. The joysticks are taller so I am not knucke dragging on the CPO when I play. I am not sure if it really changes my scores, unlike Robotron where the difference between 3.5" & 4" sticks makes a world of difference.

Latest update. I finished running an extension cord and balanced the games between the gameroom power and my office. I was bale to power everything up last night without blowing any circuit breakers!

Because I can't get a picture that does the setup justice, I have the layout below. Sorry if it is not very readable, I had to squash it down to make the size limits :(

At some point I will move the StarWars Pachinko machine over with the rest of them and add a couple of pins next to the Mata Hari.

I was going to try post some pics from last night with just the cabinet lights, but I think I need to pull the tripod out as they came out real blurry.

A Williams arcade maintained by a former Williams employee (didn't you used to work for them?)? That is downright poetic. Even if not, very nice stuff. I may be an Atari guy, but Williams games are great so I can definitely dig this.

EDIT: Ah, hey, didn't you buy my Moon Patrol, too? From my storage, with the credit button on the front? Or was that someone else?

Thanks. I did work for them in the '80s, so I have an affinity for the Williams games.

It is kind of neat to see them all lined up, which is why I brought them to the Houston shows and lined them up that way. I don't think I will have the whole set this time. It was way too much effort to get them upstairs. I'm not going to pull them down (and back up) just for the show.

After-party @ Ken's place lol.

I hear ya, I have never brought my games to the show. I'm too paranoid about the restored condition and all those uber-expensive proprietary Atari controllers. Then again I don't go to the show anyways. Mad props to those who do participate though.

That is a nice setup and a nice nice collection of games. A second floor is the great place to setup a gameroom if you have it. I'm remodeling my detached garage so one bay can become the arcade, but it would be nice to have everything inside the house, other than dragging games up and down the stairs.
