The Fluke 9010a Club

I joined the club awhile back thanks to some Klovers and have the 4 pods I think I will need the most, Z80, 8080,6502 and 6809. Now I just need to figure out how to use this thing. I would love to do some 8080 board repairs for people. Hopefully I can at some point.

Here's a couple more pics showing my Mini Catbox which has all of the
features of the old Catbox (signature analysis, etc.) but adds some other
features. All of these are prototypes and improvements are being
made until I release them in a couple of months.

Those are fantastic. Can't wait to see that FS thread.

Do you think the 6502 one could be used for a 2A03 if an appropriate adapter was made?

So much cool work going on in this "dead hobby" right now! Mad respect to all of it.

I'm in the club too. I've got a 9010a and all the pods I'll need for arcade and pinball repair but I rarely use it these days.

I decided to leave the Fluke club after making these. :)

I'm throwing money at my computer screen but nothing is happening! Please let us know when these are available. :)

Catboxes and certain Fluke pods are getting hard to find and therefore very expensive. I'm glad someone's working on a modern replacement.

I am definitely interested as well. I like having all of the old test equipment, but modern replacements are really nice.

I actually bought a couple of proms from hobbyroms a couple of months ago because it seemed way easier than hooking up the data i/o 29b. I have been spoiled using the newer USB burners, so I am getting lazy...er. :)

i am also in the fluke 9010a club :p

Probes i have:
z80,6800,6809,6502,68000

other items i have:

hp 1660cs w/Option 15 (Network Interface)
hp logic comparator
abi chipmaster

Has anyone ever looked into this? http://sourceforge.net/projects/flukeem/

It is a project to make a software emulation of the Fluke 9010A.
Not sure how they would make the hardware for the pods or interface to hook up to the UUT.

Yeah that's mine. :)

I resurrected it a while ago and won me 1st place in the RenesasRulzContest USB design entry category.
(I repeat myself a hundred times because I stiched this video together over a series of weeks and couldn't remember what I had already covered)

So, i picked up a good deal on epay..

I saw this pop up with Buy it now, looked new in case :)

it arrived UPS on friday, and boy, is this thing MINT... Even SMELLS new!

Hah I was so tempted to buy it when I saw it... But i already have two... Wanted the clock module and the case and the brand new looking ness... Kept going back almost buying it then saying ... No stop spending money. Went back for the 20th time and it was gone.. Not sure it I am happy I got to save 400 or sad that it was sold it. It was really hard to resist. :) hope you enjoy it

I am missing the logic probe, and have searched up and down left and right, and nobody has any, i also didn't have the clock module... saw it, and was like "sweet" i didn't expect it to be as nice as it was, but i am super happy, the same seller has more listed, i will probably take my old fluke 9010 and store it for a spare.

Wow. That is pretty cool

Just went to sourceforge to check it out. I have a 9010a with RS-232 coming in the mail and would like to learn about it and get either a Z80 or a 6809 module for boards that I'd like to get around to fixing. More than that, I just want to see if I can do it and get it to work for me. Maybe I'd sell it afterwards and move on to the next thing that catches my interest, but it would be so cool to get it working, get the scripts working, analyze where the problem is, repair the board, and have it work. I was an electrician and received electronics training a long time ago. Have moved on to management and stuff so when I get a chance to exercise my brain, I really enjoy it.

That being said: When I get one and a pod, I would gladly pay for some instruction time by someone who lives close to SE Virginia.

Hey Rob,

Where did you get yours? I'm trying to find with with zero luck!

Thanks
Grant

Ebay Canada

Canada ebay. Should be in working order, but will learn when it gets here. Once I get it and I know it isnt busted, then I'll start in earnest on the pod search. By looking at some of the old threads here I can get a feel for who might still have one on the shelf. Check with flippers.com or artfromny. Price is higher, but will be guaranteed to work.

Looks like I might have to bite the bullet and buy a 6809 pod from them. :(

That's THE last item I need for my repair shop's test equipment arsenal.

Did you guys check with art from ny ? also , john from flippers has fluke stuff as well, however, expect to pay top dollar on them.

Art usually has hooked me up.

I just picked up the Fluke 90 , 6809 & z80 units, havn't played with it yet.

there is a 9010A base on the bay now for 275 ? no pods :(

i find myself using 6800, z80 , 6502 the most, the logic probe is very helpful and required :) , maybe have to find a way to repo them.
