The First Lunar Lander!

I've been wanting one of these myself but I won't be paying 10 grand for one, 5 maybe but not 10. Cool game!

5 grand huh? Hummm....

I've had a Space Flight game for quite a long time and it is one of the coolest EM's out there - IMHO. Took me a long time to find one, then shortly there after another one showed up. I had two for awhile...

Check this pic of my upright EM row. See Space Flight, now look down at the end...the blue and white cab. Can you make out the marquee? It's a EM game called Lunar Lander. It's very similar to Space Flight, except the moon surface is flat with 5 landing spots (craters - same as Space Flight), the Lunar Lander looks like a Lunar Lander model, and the sound track is actual Apollo 11 transmissions - Space Flight's are not but they still sound cool - like mission control. Currently it is not fully working, but I'm working on it. The game was made by a company named Cointronics in the bay area of CA.

If anyone is interested in seeing what it looks like - I could post more pics of it tonight...

I've played a restored one first hand, and it's killer. BUT, the game is temperamental.

Nice collection of EMs, Tom! I have a line on a Target Zero and considering it, but I'm not sure it will fit through my front door.

Nice EM row....I have a "Roadrunner" marquee as game room art.

BTW, what would a Space Flight be worth anyway...wondering how far off that guy is asking $10K.

Since taking the 8-track player out of the loop - it's still in there just not hooked up anymore - and replacing it with Kevin Keinert's solid state replacement unit I've not had any issues at all with mine. It gets played alot!

Well on the top end sure as it is a sought after title. Would I try to find a better deal you bet but if it was mint mint I'd sure give it some serious thought. I say that price because that is what my other "grail" cost in real minty shape, Chopper, again I would try to find a better deal but if push came to shove...

BTW you have a great collection of old EM's I'm envious :)

At the bottom of his listing, he has lots of images of other items that he has. Included within those pics is a Chester Pollard "Play Football", which is a REALLY cool 1920's predecessor to foosball tables. It's totally mechanical and each player has a pull knob that makes each of the players on the field kick one of their legs. There is a really nice one of these in the upstairs train station depot at the magic kingdom above the front entrance at Disney World in Orlando. Ever since playing and spending some time admiring it, i have wanted one...

I was going by my buddy's experiences of owning the game. Glad to hear otherwise.

EMs wildly fluctuate in price since the market is pretty small. There were some deep pocket collectors a few years ago who drove prices sky high. I've seen EMs go both ways price-wise. If you get one off CL or estate sale, it will probably go cheap. But, yeah Chopper and Space Flight seem to be on the higher end money-wise.

But oddly that seems to be growing a bit over the last few years. More and more guys on here are buying them that were just into video games.
