Man, I want this blown up and framed for my game room. :)

That's one of the better diagrams I've seen. Though I'm a little disappointed to not see the second generation Saturn controller or the Gravis Gamepad in front of the CD-I controller. Makes me think that there's probably a lot of others missing. Though I guess to include it all would not be possible to frame and hang in a gameroom :p

Yeah, I'm sure there are obscure things missing, but I agree, this is the coolest and most accurate tree I've seen. Someone mentioned the Famicom D-pad style controller derived from Game & Watch, but I'm guessing they left out handhelds as that's a whole other can of worms. Either way, this chart is awesome.

It's a neat poster with a bunch of controllers on it, but a lot of the associations are sorta reaching. And it seems like at some point they got lazy and the associations start making even less sense. And there is a shitload of 3rd party knockoff controllers that should have been abridged out IMO.

As a side note the NES Zapper, d-pad, and SNES d-pad were some promiscuous sonsabitches.

I knew when I posted this, I'd get knit pickers. Haha.

It would be cool to get the native file for this and revise it how I see fit. :D
