First came andys80s EDOT adventure, then the Canadian EDOT adventure by Nevus. Now I present to you the third EDOT acquisition in two months!

This was the one listed on eBay last week. I spoke with the seller a few times, and we arrived at a fair price. I made a nine-hour round trip to pick her up last Saturday. It should not have been that long of a trip, but I had to stop along the way to pick up a buddy to help load. And I had to stop and get some BBQ on the way back.

The story is that this guy bought the game from an op in 1988 after the power supply failed. He's been storing it for 22 years, and never tried to fix the power supply. He did yank the suitcase, which unfortunately got pretty wet. I haven't pulled it apart yet to see how bad it is. There is also a little water damage to the bottom edge of the cabinet. More than I hoped for, but not too awful.

The bad: Does not work, some water damage, broken chase light covers, stained carpet, flaking rear glass, rough foam guards, rough CPO.

The good: Everything else! It's a f'n Environmental Discs of Tron!

Here are a few photos:

SWEET! Looks amazing!

I just hope you don't plan on playing the game in that position. ;)

Time to earn the Preservation part of my VAPS membership.

Have you seen mine...looks like you got off easy! ;) Is it the one the guy wanted 3500 for? (Now reading your whole post im taking it was) Nice score and hopefully an easy fix to get it running!

Yeah, that was the one. I'd rather not give the price in case he had other offers outstanding, but let's just say is was less than $3,500 :)

I have been following yours--looks like it's going well!

Yeah...if I could just quit buying games I might find the time to work on it! ;)

Awesome pickup, I hope to add an EDOT to my collection someday. I had been watching that for a while also, just don't have the space right now and the shipping would have killed me.

Of course, under Ideal circumstances, I would need a nice cut EDOT that has both parts (did I mention cut nicely) so I could fit it down my hallway and into my arcade :)

Yeah, this one being relatively local is what made it attractive for me. The last thing I bought was After Burner Deluxe, and I spent around a grand shipping that behemoth. Shipping on this one was a tank of gas and BBQ dinner for my buddy!

wow, nice score techno boy!

welcome to the EDOT club :)

you are in good luck..... rich from thisoldgame has some of the edot repro parts/artwork in que for future production.

Welcome to the exclusive "How the $%# do I move this game club....." I want to relocate mine to the other side of the basement but every time I look at it I change my mind...

Awesome man! That looked like a pretty fair auction. Good pics and description. Thing I didnt understand is that he said the PS was removed, but I could see the linear in the pics.

Anyhow, I am glad we had a local guy to save it!

I hear you! We spent more time talking about how to load the game and physically walking through various scenarios than we did actually loading the game. Unloading was a cinch! Will a forklift fit down your stairs?

He was a real straight guy. I don't think he had any games but this one. When he said he removed the PS, he was talking about the power chassis "suitcase" in my last pic. He had set it back in place for the auction photos, but it was not fastened down.

There is a post of mine somewhere about how this game put me through a wall..... Seriously....

What is the proper/best way to move one of these EDOT's from point A (seller's house of junk) to point B (your game room)?

I can't visualize moving one into a pickup. Do you need to rent a truck with a lift?
