I have started puting together my Lunar Lander. I purchased the complete insides of a Lunar Lander a few months ago, I just opened the box 3 days ago. I picked up a empty Lunar Lander Cabinet in Seattle Last Week. Special thanks to Blinddog for trading me for the cabinet. Lunar Lander is one of my Grails.

Here are a few pictures of the cabinet. It has a Asteroids in it, I traded a Asteroids cab for it. So his Asteroids becomes a true asteroids, and my Lander becomes a true Lander

So I open the Box of parts. I started with the Control Panel. It was a complete rust bucket. Took me a few days to get it where it is now. I have a little more touch up I can do around the art area. Then it will have to be good enough until I can purchase or make a overlay, then I will take it all the way down to metal and powdercoat.

Here is what I started with.

I worked hard on this panel. I have not looked at the other items in the Box yet. Taking stuff out one piece at a time. I hope I dont have to work this hard on everything. I still have some touch up to do on the right side of the panel. The thruster is now rust free and works perfect.

Yes Ram Controls is making the whole thruster, I think they are pre-order. He has top quality parts. My thruster accually came out very nice and works perfect. But if I ever need parts for my LL and Ram Controls has them, I will buy from him for sure.:)

Looks great. Nice work.

Was that a LL that was later converted to Asteroids or is it one of the original Asteroids that was shipped in a LL cabinet?

It's great to see it become a Lunar Lander once again. It looks good, nice job. I'll have to get back over to Spokane sometime to play a couple games when it's done.

I just got my asteroids back together and played a few games now I just have to squeeze it back into is cubby.

It was a Lunar Lander that was converted later to asteroids. It still has a LL serial number and the LL backdoor sheet was still in it.

Please post some pictures of the Asteroids. Im glad you got it back together. Im a few days out on the lander. I hope its up by next weekend:)

I did some more work on the panel tonight. The first time I have used paint pens on a panel. They worked quite well. All the white and black lines on the left side of the panel were repainted with the pens. also masked off and sprayed some problem areas on the left side. I have a little paint pen work to do on the right side and I will be done with it until I get a overlay. The first 2 pictures are of the panel when I started the 3rd picture was yesterday and the last is tonight.
