The Drop In Quarters 2.0 - Don't call it a come back.

Added a bug screen to the outside of the garage so we can enjoy the arcade and the evening air without my wife getting eaten alive.

Second rug arrived for the left hand side of the room. Just letting it settle for now as I don't want to put it in before I've finished the run for the ceiling on that side of the arcade.

We live in San Diego broski. What kind of bug issue are you having?!

Finished enough of the ceiling on the left side to be able to bring in the carpet for left and center rear. Slow progress but things are getting easier as I free up the space and the games return to the walls.

It's amazing how something simple turns into a major project. I ended up having to relocate my water heater just to make room for another arcade game. Lol

Ha. That's real commitment.

Yeah this has definitely suffered from mission creep but once I start into something like this I tend to constantly keep thinking 'ooh you know what would be cool!' 😉

Made good progress this weekend but fell short of moving all the games to the walls. The 8x10 black and white center rugs arrived from Amazon only to find out they sent 7x10 🤨. So that brought everything to a stop.

Ordered a different design which is supposed to arrive tomorrow. So we'll see what happens.

My youngest turned 11 yesterday and asked if she could have a few friends over on the weekend for a karaoke party in the arcade, movies and a sleepover. So now I'm in rush mode trying to clean the place up and at least have the space functional for that.

As an Arcade dad, this is the best feeling ever. Embrace it.

Locally I found a like-new La-Z-Boy couch that meets all of my wife's criteria, the guy is going to deliver it tomorrow night.

I'll put these either side of it for drinks and devices. I like that they have downlit display shelves where I can put arcade niknaks.

Love the space man. Looks so different from when I was just there not so long ago. Great job.

Following in @jow 's footsteps, I'll put a long, shallow sofa table along the back of the couch, not bar height though. As i get older I find bar height stools more and more uncomfortable to sit on. This table is only 12" deep but it's 6ft long so it will be good for laying out some food and snacks when we have guests in the arcade.

Either side of the small sofa table I'm going to put these display shelves and fit them with down-firing RGB puck lights. They will stand about 10" higher than the table and will be used for display items too.71xx5jkpZkL._AC_SL1500_.jpg
