*************** FOR DONKEY KONG OWNERS ONLY ************

How High Can You Get?
(I love that line!)

OK, Donkey Kong Owners. Who's up for a challenge?

The winner gets A Special Donkey Kong Grand Prize shipped free to their door.

And the Challenge? Why, the HIGHEST SCORE on Donkey Kong of course!

Here's the deal. Follow these steps to enter:

Step 1. Updated. Any version of Donkey Kong is ok. What the hell it's just a game. You will be required to post a picture of your highest score and the machine. Game must be set to default settings. This is just a game, please don't cheat. What fun is that? While the Grand Prize is very cool, it's nothing to cheat for. Besides, if I think you've cheated, I'm sending Twin Galaxies to your door to check your boards...:D

Step 2. Your picture must be posted here with a post date no later than Sunday August 8th. Any submissions with a post date of Monday August 9th do not qualify. Your picture must have the score in the player 1 position on the screen to qualify. Scores already in the high score list are not eligible.

Step 3. You can post more than one pic. If someone posts a higher score than you, go back and beat them! Or you can do like Billy Mitchell, and post a low score, and then when someone beats it, post a higher one later that you already played! Just to be an ass, you know? :)

Step 4. That's It! May the best player win!

I will post what The Grand Prize is on Monday after we have a winner.

P.S. If for some unfortunate reason, this thread turns into a big ass flame war or something like that, I'll just say screw it and send it to Phet. :001_ssuprised:

This Donkey Kong Challenge Starts NOW! Game On!

So if I want to compete I need to remove the high score save kit with the DK II rom and put the old processor back in?

Aw, too bad. I'm going out of town tomorrow. It would be a good excuse to knock the rust off and start working on topping my high score of 573k. :D

I've updated my post.

Uprights, Mini's or Cocktails units are fine.

You can use DK II to play as it uses the original boards.

So stay up late tonight!

I don't own one....yet...but I'll post anyway from the last time I played.

Thanks for your submission but the game has to be played starting today through Sunday.

I know its your contest, but why leave all the multi-boards out?
I assume this is supposed to be "fun" and not a real world-record try, so allowing multis would allow many more people to participate.

As long as the dip-switches are set the same it should be very similar (I know some of the multis are missing a sound sample, but that doesn't effect gameplay). My scores are similar no matter what version I'm playing, the controls on the game are the biggest factor.

Awww man, that leaves me out... Great idea anyway, play on!
