As some of you know - I am almost finished with my Death Race restoration... (I have heard that Prok has the final pieces almost done).
This has been a very long process (almost 2 years) and my cabinet looks amazing... going through and cleaning out junk that I had laying around - I finally had to throw out the BADLY water damaged original sides... Seeing them laying on the curb I just had to take a picture!

On their way back to me, all that's left is a couple bends. Sometimes these projects take months or even years for the timing, resources and funding to all line up for it to hit the production pipeline but it's always worth it in the end :)

Brian - I totally agree - and well worth waiting for - for a reproduction that is done so well.
Do you have any idea where my original is that I sent? I cannot wait to play my death race... do you have an idea of when they should be done?

i agree. Maybe cut the water damage off so you don't have to see it, but then screw them to a wall.

You should have cut the art out square and hung it on the wall in your game room IMO

I have 100 classic arcades - I think my wife is patient enough with me - the more JUNK I can get rid of the better...
Everyone always says keep this or keep that - or give someone else the opportunity to come get it - but yet if I list empty cabinets for sale for 25 bucks a piece they sit and sit. I might as well throw them out on the curb. I held on to these sides for about a year thinking maybe I would do something with them - I never did. That's why they ended up in the trash. If I want to look at the death race art - I will look at my fully restored cabinet.

+1

about the only sides i would wall mount.. LOL
it is some awesome art
Those sides would have looked good screwed to a shop wall, or if you just couldn't stand looking at the water damage - cut out just the artwork piece and frame that shit. Death Race has some of the coolest art ever!

I've been there. Everyone has better intentions than you until it comes to getting out of the computer chair and doing something. Sometimes things are beyond saving and are destined for the landfill. You can't save everything. :(
