Just got back from Chopper's. I had #2 now I also have #10. Played the prototype he made before he decided to produce a few so I asked for two right away.

Feels good and a solid build. It's nice being able to adjust it to my Vec instead of it being off like the original controller. Probably going to store the original controller and only use these from now on.

Getting mine in the mail recently finally prompted me to go on a massive dig to unearth my V system after the move. It's been MIA for 8 months. Finally found it in my garage attic and was able to compare the physical properties of the new controller to the original. The new controller is solidly built and the joystick throw and tension feel almost identical. Where this thing really shines is in the buttons. While the original buttons have so little travel that you can barely tell if you pressed them, the buttons on Chopper's controller have considerable travel and give you that "Hell yeah I pressed it" satisfaction. The overlay looks professional and pretty much matches the factory overlay on the original in both fit and finish. The cord is a great match to the original, the only real differences being it is shorter and the connector is a straight connector versus the 90 degree boot style on the original. Finally, as far as I know, this controller doesn't fit nicely into the molded system cavity like the original, which makes it less mobile, but who cares. I doubt you're gonna be packing your system up to take to your less fortunate friend's house for a sleepover every weekend anyway. I will test the game play differences later this week when I've got some more time. For now, enjoy the comparison pics:

I like this little touch:

Basically paying a subtle but slightly snarky homage to the original:

Beautiful work, clean and true to the original.
If you ever run another batch of controllers, please count me in.
I am building vectrex display area in my home arcade and would really like to have one or a pair of these.
thanks!

I finally fired up my system and played with my new controller. Man, it makes even Mine Storm fun. I had my best game ever with this new controller.

Yup, I'm glad I went the extra expense of real sanwa buttons, you can even find that "flutter" point where the button doesn't need to be bottomed out to engage like a leaf. Perfect controller for adult hands, but there's no guilt with it not being original.

good day.
