This is probably the closest I'll ever get to Solar Quest. Not as fun, but a helluva a lot cheaper and smaller! I know, it's not a real arcade machine, but I've got the vector madness and I found this one for cheap.

Same goes for me with Solar Quest, Star Castle, Warrior (once I finally get it...), etc. I love the Vectrex, it is the most timeless game system ever made. Atari 2600 looks like a mess today but the Vectrex still looks just as clean.

It's really pretty amazing for the time. I had an Atari 7800 growing up, but the Vectrex was too short lived for me to have ever seen it. Really a cool system - I've been looking to pick one up for awhile, but too cheap to get one. This one came with Solar Quest, Rip Off, Armor Attack, Cosmic Chasm, Hyperchase and Scramble. And all the overlays. Still need a few more games.

Yeah it came out right as the crash started (83), and at $200 it was considered very expensive as a "second system". It wasn't marketed at all hardly it seems.

The game you need to get the most is Fortress of Narzod, that's a really great exclusive and showcase of the Vectrex. Star Castle is excellent, too. Web Wars is probably the best looking game when played with the overlay, and it's a pretty fun game to boot.

Yup, all on my list. Keeping an eye out for Bedlam too. I've run some of the homebrews in an emulator and there are some REALLY neat ones out there.
