With the love most of us have for vectors I found myself looking at Andy's site of all known vector games and noticed a lot of cool clone / bootleg games. I have a few myself and was wondering who else had some of these.

http://andysarcade.de/vec_all.html

These games are hardly ever seen because not many were made and most didn't survive making any still around very rare.

So if you have any please share pics of them here so everyone can see some of the less known cool vector games out there. :)

Here are mine:

1. Fort Cosmos - This one isn't even on Andy's list.
2. Meteor Upright.
3. Meteor Upright - Different style cabinet.
4. Meteor Cocktail.
5. Hoei Star Castle Cocktail.

I bought a bunch of games from an operator and he had a mix of bootleg asteroids. they were in the same cab. one was called space carrier, the other was called asteroid.

I pretty sure I still have one left in storage at my parents place. I think it ran on a HOEI monitor. If you really want to see one, I can take a pic. I probably have a box of parts here if you want to see monitor, control panel, marquee and probable bezel..

Except for the curve on the sides between the CP and marquee, that Meteor cab reminds me of those bootleg "white Mr Do" style cabs that alot of raster bootlegs were in (Mr Do, Lady Bug, Spiders, Time Pilot, Crazy Kong). It even has the same style monitor bezel.

I have a HOEI star castle cocktail too. Just dug it out last weekend and ordered parts to keep it going... maybe saturday.

Yeah but this cabinet appears to be dedicated with painted sideart as seen in this pic. ;)

In fact there is a separate page for Clones/Bootlegs on my site...

I'll be watching this cool thread closely and update my website with any new information :)

Andreas

Hey Andreas, I'll PM you with my email. Respond back and I'll send you a bunch of pics of my Fort Cosmos so you can add it to your site. :)

I first had a Hoei Meteor at one point in time (3rd picture on OP).

It worked at one point in time but didn't when I took it out of storage. In the mean time I had bought my Asterock:

and i liked this cab much more, it simply looks much better. Speleo masterfully repaired the PCB, and I did a minor repair on the power supply and it works great now.

However, Sidam used different sound circuits compared to Asteroids, and i really don't like them. Also the scoring is different AND I hope to add a 3in1 one day, so I will be building my working original Asteroids PCB in it...

It may be a bootleg, but it has a lot of advantages compared to the original, most notably the CP. I love it, it plays much more comfortably then the original...

Funny enough it has an Elektrohome G05-802 with an original Atari sticker :)

Also a picture of another unknown Asteroids bootleg that I "stole" from the DLF forum:

Looks converted (CP) though....weird one !

I would like to see a photo of the full machine, or the parts for the Space Carrier...

man, this is an old thread.

I crushed 2 or 3 space carrier bootlegs I am sure I boxed the guts up back in those days and they are in storage. I even have one that I have been meaning to crush and I think it was working/close to working like 12 years ago when it was last plugged in.
