Here are some notes that I have put together on these Candy cranes. Thanks to Ken Layton, Pindork1, mvco, and Coinopshop.
Hope this helps!
A.G.E. The Challenger (Newer than J series)
To get into the program mode,
1. press and hold the program and the reset buttons at the same time and hold them in for at least 5 seconds.
2. Realease the reset button while holding the program button the rope lights (if working) will start flashing.
3. Then release the program button the display will toggle from 1 2, press the drop claw button when the display gets to a 1.
If you have a talking version (newer) You should hear it say program mode.
The display will toggle through all the options in this mode.
Menus:
1-volume 1-10 on your crane it may be 1-100
2-claw strength 1-10 or 1-100
3- game time in sec.
4-price 1=.25 2=.50 3=.75 4=1.00
5-number of games. it's play till you win but you can set it to a max number tries.
6-atract mode 1=4x per hour 2=3x 3=2x 4=1x
7-voice vol. but if you have no voice this is why you only have six options.
Parts can be found at http://www.candyandtoy.com/

To turn off the winner every time, wait till the left side of the display gets to five and press the claw button. You should hear it say plays per credit. Now with the joystick (moving up or down) set the right side of the display number to 1. This will only give
one play per credit. You should read 5 1 on the display. I think the factory setting is 10 for the winner every time.
The price per play is at #4 in the program mode on the left side of the display. If you are looking for 2 coins per credit, in the program mode, go to #4 (left side display) hit the drop claw button and set to 2 on the right side using the joystick. This will give you .50 cent per play.
It sounds confusing, I know. I have several of these machines and they were a nightmare at first, but once you get into the program mode, it will announce the options over the speaker as you toggle though them
Hope this helps!
