The Bullsh** Continues!!! (Will this ever stop) This klov not craigslist people!

Its cool because some people think that I am anyway since I buy stuff all the time. What they dont know is a lot of my stuff I get calls from the people that sell and most of the others I get isn't even from the state I live in. The last bulk deal I did I flew to MI and drove a 24" truck back. I'm not one to complain about driving hours to get a game or two or 20. Same goes for having them shipped. This is really the only way I was able to get most of the games I and others wanted. I dont think its possible to find all the games you want within a 15 mile radius unless you live near a arcade that closed down or something. At least I try to fix up most of the games that I do sell and try not to sell junk unless I stated it as junk and sell it off cheap. My games and part I feel are reasonably priced. I not one to try to sell a single game board for $500to a person that needs it. Sometimes I make money, sometimes I dont. When I do it just goes back into the arcade world, when I don't its just a loss on a hobby. I enjoy fixing games up more than playing them, but I'm trying to change that this year and making an effort to finally get my little game room together and play some games.
.
all I want to know is how the F you pull off these trips without your wife killing you, esp since you have a kid! Mine is completely understanding and supportive of my hobby, but I think she'd think I was crazy if I was flying places to buy arcade machines. :)

For anyone who doesn't already know, Darryl is a great dude and someone that can be counted on. Take a break from buying a have a damn gameday dude! You are probably the new local Luna City. ha

You drove a 24" truck back? Damn. How's the leg room on one of those? hehe

I feel your pain, Daryl. I had a video board i held for someone for going on 4 months. A guy pmed me not too long ago, asking me if i'd take x dollars for a spy hunter and a tron pcbset - i sent him a pm back and said yeah, i can do that. Didn't hear from him for at least a week, and then he wanted a different pcbset altogether, and then he wanted to trade stuff for it. Fine, i sent him a list of manuals i'd like to have hard copies of, he said he'd get back to me - that was sometime before christmas.
Then, not too long ago a guy pms me and says he has 3 or 4 or 5 tron spinners that he needs repaired. I tell him a price, and that i'd need to order the optics for them. He sends me a pm back saying he'll ship them out on Monday. Ok, so i immeadetely order 5 optics so i've got some in stock. He pms me back a bit later he's found someone local.

Well since you buy and sell games on a regular basis, you will encounter this more then the average person. Don't know what else to say, but that's the truth. It happens in any hobby you have to deal with the public in.

Sadly common sense prevails here, sellers want as much as they can get for a game and buyers want it for as little as they can get it for. Therefore YOU personally will encounter more changing of minds, backed out deals, and such for 'A or B' list games of course because more people want them and when they see an ad, they jump on it. Its very competitive as you know. You sighted A & B list games examples of deals gone wrong. People are just rude now a days, its not like the 1950's anymore. Words don't mean shit and in general people just do not care about strangers and their feelings.

So the more you buy, this will happen to you again and again, this thread will not make it stop. Be prepared... It also shows you the people you thought you were tight with, or talked with as "friends" on KLOV, obviously were not and are not. We just know people on the surface here, hiding behind our little computers and that is hardly getting to know someone. Sure, you meet some over the years at shows, parties, and such, those people are probably good people.

Sure some of these people have been indecisive and that is just plain rude! They need to make up their minds to sell or not! I agree with you there and that too would annoy me.

Lastly, I NEVER buy games that need to be shipped. Ever!!

This thread could have been a shipped game thread, game arrived broken, damaged or not true to the pics the seller sent me. Shipping games just leaves yourself open for more disappointment if you ask me.

Good luck!

This reminds me of a trade you and I did DJ... Remember the Star Wars for the Moon Patrol and Robotron? Yup I regretted that before you got there but I went through with it anyways. Not everyone keeps to their word unfortunately.

Seems like your hobby is upsetting you too much, you just need to roll with it. You're in this for fun right? Is this fun? Sit back, relax these are not irreplaceble holy relics so there will be other opportunities. As someone said before me you're under the misconception that these folks are your friends, they are actually friendly competitors. I've collected many different kinds of things over the past few decade and when it comes to buying collectable shit people behave lousy when something they want is up for grabs. I've had people snach shit off gunshow tables while I was reaching for my wallet that were my "friends". This behavior is not new nor unique to arcade crap. Simple answer is, make your own deals outside the comunity, don't talk about them, and don't be a cheap ass and you'll have fewer problems.

The detail on the SW are simple.....

1. I saw it
2. The seller and I agreed to allow me to give him a buyer willing to pick it up for 100.00(I left it there (my mistake) I should have taken it to my home)
3. I listed it on here for someone else to get a deal
4. The seller respond with "it's been sold"

It sucks, I wounldn't have offered it up if I thought it was going to go south.

Vallet points. Trust me I'm not loosing any sleep over any of this. I get games all the time and your right its just a hobby. Everyone seems to be missing my point though. I made this post, not to cry, hold my head down or be upset about missing out on games. My main point is to try to make those aware of the sh** they do, did or think of doing. If you commit to a deal try to stick with it and dont let an extra $10 or free cap kit steer you in another direction. Yes this is a very competitive hobby and which I'm well aware of. I know everyone has the own ways and thoughts of doing things, but just try to be mindful of what your doing. I'm far from perfect, but usually when I F**k I try to make good on it and try to alway keep my word. With me listing all the games I lost out on was just to give examples for those that might not no.

...in the future consider this plan of attack (if not interested in a Star Wars cab)...

1. See it
2. Hand over $100
3. Take it home
4. List it for $200 here and make a hundy for your troubles.

Hello
I'm at work right now so I don't have time to read the entire post but I think it was inspired by me for the most part. I am the guy that sold dj dns the last game in question. I respect him for not mentioning my name but I have always been the type of person to own up to my mistakes so here it goes...(sorry, long posting)
I'm not perfect, I screw up from time to time like everybody and I really don't want to make anyone mad. I sold dj dns my Asteroids Deluxe mini for $75 and a 48 in 1 pcb (great price, I know :) ). I agreed to ship it for him as well. When I asked my boss if I could grab a pallet/shrinkwrap from work, borrow the company truck to bring it home and maybe get a half day off from work for the pick up of the game in question. I don't know if he was having a bad day or what but he just laid into me about it, enough to make me feel depressed and wonder how I ended up in a place like this (he is also younger than me, which yes, makes it worse, not sure why but it does...) I know it's no excuse but after that I just didn't feel like dealing with it, all the joy I normally recieve from selling someone something cheap was just replaced with anger and hatred towards my boss. I know he just wanted me to beg him to use the pallet and truck and at this point it wasn't happening. What I did was complete bullshit, I have no other way to say it. I backed out of a deal and I feel horrible knowing it effected dj dns this bad. I saw that he had 50+ games and just assumed he was a dealer/reseller so it would be no big deal and it wouldn't bother him. I should have contacted him first, I really feel bad now guys... Like I said to him, I'm just a Dad that works way too much and occasionally collects arcade games. I'm not really a "seller" and I usually buy my games super cheap with patience and then sell them super cheap just because I love the reaction I get from people when they get a good deal. I know my AD mini was worth more than that but it didn't matter to me since I got it cheap (I did NOT sell it for more to the other guy by the way, if that matters) I let my temper get the better of me yesterday and took the easy way out, being a father thats something I'm working on changing but I was just having a bad day and because of it I really let dj dns down. I am really sorry man, skimming through some comments it seems I did something really really bad and I just feel horrible now. Anyone who knows me will know I let stuff like this bother me way too much and can almost become obssesive over it. I know it's just a game and just some anonomous internet forum but being a newer member I was kind of stating to feel the "friendship" of the community and this makes me feel like I blew it. dj dns and KLOV...I apologize for my behavior, sorry guys, hopefully we can still be friends...
:( - Brian

I've said it before... (in my best Gump voice)...

Momma always told me...

What matters is not that someone screwed up... as we all do... but rather how that person deals with the screw up after the fact.
