The Bullsh** Continues!!! (Will this ever stop) This klov not craigslist people!

i have had a couple of backout experiences on klov, and would have been first transactions with the indivudals concerned. "given away to..." sorry didnt get your pm and sold it to someone else..." kinda soured me off attempting to buy from them again.

but then again i am not perfect; i have on occassion had to delay or withdraw from various deals with klovers myself for a variety of reasons on my part: either bad timing, illness, work, loss of shipping container space, or a temporary tight financial spot.

i have always apologised for my actions and hoped that wouldnt cause me future difficulty dealing with those klovers concerned. most are forgiving like darryl but some just aren't.

This reminds me of what happened to one of my recent deals and that I posted about. Call me old school, but a deal is deal.

I dont think you have anything to worry about Andy. You are the one that made it safe to ship overseas for me. I always tried to stay away, but it was you that made it be known that your money and loyalty is as good as ours in the states. You did so many transactions with me you would never have to apologize to me for being late on something. Yeah I held your last item for a few extra weeks, but I no you'll make good on the transaction if you tell me your getting it. I could have sold it to two other klovers that were begging me for it, but I kept my word when I said its yours. That's the difference I'm trying to get across in this thread. $20, a different item or a quicker sale can end a friendship or bond that fast when you dont keep your word. Is that really worth it. To me hell no, so others who knows.

As far as you go StrainedSky. I accept you apology (some what) and glad you came forward. The part that gets me the most upset with our trade transaction that never took place are two things. 1. We both agreed on the trade, we talked on the phone and you gave me the address to your house and after all that you backed out on me. 2. I sold you stuff in the past so this wasn't a trade with someone you never dealt with before plus I actual held and sold you a Tempest cabinet in the past. Now that I needed one from you I feel like you treated me dirt on it. Doesn't matter if I have 1 cab or 100 cabs if I'm willing to drive a few hours to get something that must mean I need it. But whats done is done. Thanks again for talking that step forward.

Well I'll call myself out. I'm the one with the tempest. And your right I did back out, I found someone local that had what I needed and would enjoy the game but didn't think it would be to big of a deal with you since you have so many games coming and going. Once I saw how big of a deal it was to you i PM'd and apologized and said the game was yours and backing out was a douche move on my end. I really don't want a sour relationship with you since we are neighbors in a respect. Anyways I'm sorry and hope we can be friends down the road. Sincerely " the tempest douche"

Just when you thought 2011 couldn't get any worse for you arcade collecting-wise...

That really sucks about that Star Wars. That would have been a really good score.

Yeah this was one game I actually got excited about for a minute since I haven't had one since the first time I started collecting. For some reason I new it wasn't going to happen. Then when the thread started growing with what was being said I new it was over for me. Sh** happens I guess, just been seeing a lot lately.

So what happened with the SW anyway? Did he decide to make a chair?

One last thing!
Is this the new saying now or a crime that I'm aware of? Are you a bad guy or shouldn't be aloud to own 50 or more games now? I just got this PM from the guy that backed out on me this morning. This is one sentence that I copied & pasted of what he said word for word:
"I really do apologize, I saw that you had 50 games and figured this wouldn't be a big deal to you but since it is I'm sorry man."

* Isn't this the same thing that was mention by a different person on this thread or am I just going crazy?*

You are clearly a hoarder and people are backing out of deals for your own good. :)

I personally blame the Internet for the decline of the moral fabric of humanity. And it is only getting worse. The instant gratification perception and unrealistic expectations of people who surf the net is the downfall of mankind. They think that clicking their mouse button to get shit for the lowest possible price is going to make up for the fact that virtually everything that we now consume is no longer produced here in the US. Less jobs and lower household incomes are the result of the Internet facilitating the mass distribution of crappy imported goods and the perception that everything can be had for a "smoking deal", so long as you are willing to scour the Internet until you save that last extra ten cents.

What does this have to do with your problem?...

Well, the non-personal nature of making deals via messages (instead of face-to-face) coupled with the "wheeler dealer" nature of "saving money" on the Internet has caused people to believe that they have the right to keep their options open if something "better" or "more convenient" happens to come along. Even if this means breaking a deal that they had previously agreed to.

I have to deal with the public on the phone every day, and it would SHOCK you to know how many people call for technical assistance regarding a $30 item that they NEED, only to inform us that they will have to call back on another day to actually make the purchase. Think about this. This is after they get 20 minutes of valuable technical assistance. They can't really go anywhere else to get the item, unless they find it "used" on the Internet, and yet they STILL end up saying that they are going to have to call back another day to spend less than $40. Welcome to the NEW worldwide marketplace...

If there is anyone out there who could suffer such and indignity I would think it would be one who has 58 games listed in their VAPS....:p

Seriously though, if you paid him the money the deal was done, BS to back out once the funds are exchanged.

If it makes you feel any better I just drove over an hour to pick up a game for a friend, waited over an hour for the seller to show up and then after being stood up had to drive an hour back home sans the game. Bollocks

Sorry to here about all the deals you have that people are backing out on you. I've bought from you before and you are a stand up guy with a great collection. I've had people back out of deals to but not that many. It seems that the laws of averages is catching up with you. I do a few deals a year and get one or two people who back out, you do hundreds and get 30-40 people who back out. I understand where you are coming from because no matter whether it's one or forty deals they all suck when you are looking forward to the trade. Just keep at it as you still get some great deals even if some fall through, and remember we don't all suck here...LOL..

If I was a hoarder I would have 40 storage units right now. I buy games for other people and still a few for myself. I sell & give away things that I dont want or need. I buy out operators and do bulk deals every now and then, that why I have so much sh** all the time. I thought a hoarder was one that buys up everything and keeps everything for himself weather or not he needs it. Like having 20 of the same nos overlays and not giving one or two to people that really need it. I buy as much sh** as I sell. I'm not one to post I wish I was closer I'll just pay to have it shipped if I really want or need it like the Dedicated Tekken 5 that was on the forum for sale. It might be worth it in the long run after shipping, but I really dont care because its a game I been wanting for a long time and one came up so I bought it. Did I need it no, did I want it yes, did I have over 50 games yes, do I not deserve the right to buy this because I have over 50 games? Is that being a hoarder? I might be a lot more serious than others with this hobby, but I don't classify myself as a hoarder my friend. I know a few hoarders and I'm surely not like them.

Darryl,

I have dealt with you a few times -- sent you money beforehand, and drove a few hours to pick up games.

You have always been extremely professional and trustworthy, and have come through on everything that you said.

I just wanted to point out that you totally practice what you preach. Hopefully others will start doing the same.

Um, the hoarder comment was a joke. Forgot to include the smiley. Fixed.

Sorry for making you waste a perfectly good rant! :)

Thanks. Its cool. Like I said its not losing the deals I have an issue with its the respect for one another. If someone need a control panel and I tell them dont worry I got one for you. Then they should not have to worry because I said I have one for them. Now its not at all right and disrepectful to that same person if I was to sell that control panel to someone else because they game me $5 more and my favorite flavored chewing gum. Sh** just aint cool! Thats my point with a little stupid humor.

Its cool because some people think that I am anyway since I buy stuff all the time. What they dont know is a lot of my stuff I get calls from the people that sell and most of the others I get isn't even from the state I live in. The last bulk deal I did I flew to MI and drove a 24" truck back. I'm not one to complain about driving hours to get a game or two or 20. Same goes for having them shipped. This is really the only way I was able to get most of the games I and others wanted. I dont think its possible to find all the games you want within a 15 mile radius unless you live near a arcade that closed down or something. At least I try to fix up most of the games that I do sell and try not to sell junk unless I stated it as junk and sell it off cheap. My games and part I feel are reasonably priced. I not one to try to sell a single game board for $500to a person that needs it. Sometimes I make money, sometimes I dont. When I do it just goes back into the arcade world, when I don't its just a loss on a hobby. I enjoy fixing games up more than playing them, but I'm trying to change that this year and making an effort to finally get my little game room together and play some games.
