Ok guys. The disassembly and bodywork on this old cabinet begins next week. I'm still waiting on most of the art kit but it's time to get going. Plenty of wiring to do, painting and a cpl box to find.

SFGE is coming soon. Sounds like you are making progress but I cant see any of the pictures other than the arrival of the x men control panel.![]()
Thanks. I forgot the stickers for the Control panel:Pretty cool!
While inspecting the control panel so I can put on the Control panel overlay noticed that I missed a spot.

One of the holes.. Specifically the one you are looking at is weird and was really loose when the old button was unscrewed but solid when tightened. I'm not too keen on filling all the holes and redrilling so I got a lexan top for extra support. It's also accurate to the machine.(if I have to I'll try filling it behind the lexan)Have you test fit all the buttons / sticks on the panel yet? Need to be sure the buttons are gonna cover all of the hole without showing a gap, or will even fit in the hole. Don't want to find out you got an issue after the overlay is down.
PS: my vintage Wico microswitch joysticks:Have you test fit all the buttons / sticks on the panel yet? Need to be sure the buttons are gonna cover all of the hole without showing a gap, or will even fit in the hole. Don't want to find out you got an issue after the overlay is down.
I know that it had buttons in it before as an x men, but the X-Men control panel overlay came with the holes already cut in it. You can see that they didn't line up just right so they fudged a couple of the holes a little and made them oblong so they would line up with the holes already in the overlay. Since the holes in the overlay were perfect you would not have seen the gap underneath.
When you lay the buckey overlay down, if you cut the holes to match the holes in the panel you might have a problem. if there is a gap during test fit without the overlay there will be a gap with the overlay if you trim it to the holes. Sure you have thought of all of this and have a plan, but just in case....
