Holy crap! I've seen a lot of cool designs, and am a fan of minimalism in general, but this garage arcade takes the cake. Not that I have the best arcade, but most folks with "Garcades" just throw some games together, maybe a few signs, but this guy takes it to a whole new level. Not a ton of games, but a very solid collection that makes Mom proud.

This is perfect for the metro types with Martha Stewart contemporary design in mind... me personally? I am going to mimic the hangar style of the Barcade in my future full basement with the heavy metal jukebox (xbmc) on blast 24/7, a minibar, pinballs, air hockey, a punching bag and more modern games from the late 80s / early 90s and on. Good for him though and thanks for sharing.

....yes................. Im calling it a Chickcade, bro.

That makes total sense because chicks dig Heman, GiJoe, Tron, Crystar, and arcade games :werd:.

Assuming the dude has somewhere else to do dirty work than I think that place is perfect aside from the lock bar on the SW cab ;). To each their own of course...

right on dude.

personally, i think a home arcade sucks if it looks like spilling a beer is going to ruin the whole evening.

Heck, if you've gone that far, you might as well fully convert it into another room and put carpet in it. That being said, maybe there are building code issues, etc. Definitely looks like a comfortable place to hang out.

I think its great. Very classy place that you may even get an adult female to set foot into. The guy has a solid little collection of classics, and a chill out spot as well. Whats not to like? If it were me, yes there would be more games, but the guy has restraint, or at least a wife that makes sure he does.

Eventually, even I get tired of sweeping up broken glass, mopping down beer spills, and having my recycling bucket look like the alcoholic convention came to town last week.

hmmm... it's well done N comfy but far from the "best garcade" I have ever seen.
I think his selection is a bit short at what I see as about 9 cabs. Unless others are cropped out then he's all classics.

Donkey Kong
Narrow Mario Bros
Punchout (missing lower coin door)
Tron
DOT
Pac-man
Gyrus
Star Wars (left the lock bar on?)
Spy Hunter

His Google Sketch shows a back to back middle row and the back wall full of games.

His console couch does nothing for me even though I am a big console guy. The wall mounted LCD is really not a good console monitor if you are a classic console guy...

Pics or it didn't happen. :)

I've come to realize in my personal opinion, it's not about quantity, but quality. I think this guy delivers.

I agree, 40 games of junk that I never saw or played doesn't mean much to me....I like the sofa thing as it gives players a place to relax during sessions....better yet, the sofa gives a place for the ladies to sit until the men want their attention.....hours of saving humans from grunts, brains and the like can give a man a great deal of stress...having the ladies close by to relieve said stress can save at least a minute or two on a regular basis...a minute here a minute there can really add up over the long haul....:)

Hmmm... I've been thinking about ditching my couch to make room for more games. The girls hanging out are all wives, so nobody really gives a shit if they're in the gameroom or not. :p

Perhaps the wives could be in the house cooking or cleaning and the girlfriends could be in the garcade taking care of more immediate concerns....Can't hurt to dream, can it?
