The best arcade deal around

That listing just annoys the tilt out of me too, because I am in a nearby city and I run my ebay searches for arcade parts on "Nearest First" since obviously I want to go get the game and not have it shipped. So I see this thing Every-Damn-Day. I don't get it, nobody is going to buy it, does this guy really enjoy spending $5 in eBay fees every week just to relist his ego emblem?

Yeah, that thing has been up there for a long time. I haven't seen it in a while but its definitely annoying.

It's have over 13,000 views.
But this might be the first Joust 2 I've seen. If he was serious in selling them, he should sell them separately.

When stuff like that annoys me I set up a more specific search and use the exclude seller feature. That's a pretty lame listing, no doubt. Guy must be on crack.

It doesn't cost him anything. EBay's lightened up on the up-front fees over the last year or three, and at this point I think you get like 50 listings a month with no insertion fee. They've also made having up to 12 pictures free on a listing for some time now. Plus you've been able to re-list with no new insertion fee for quite a long time.

(That's not to say that EBay is making it cheaper - they've upped the final value fee by adding a 'final value fee' on shipping. Not completely wrong, as it does hit the a-holes that sell stuff for nothing then charge 10x the reasonable shipping the worst, but I note that they didn't reduce the regular FVF at the same time - so I think we know the real rationale for this.)

So, here again, EBay's policies work to destroy the marketplace by cluttering it with junk, rather than enhance it by making it actually easier and cheaper to sell.

Now some folks use the 'stupid high price auction' to generate offers at reasonable prices. Still kinda dumb, but at least they aren't thinking they'll actually get the stupid high number. This joker has offers turned off, and by the fact that he's still got the gear, he clearly doesn't want to hear reasonable offers.

"But honey, I am TRYING to sell them. I have them listed on eBay with 13,000+ views!"

Except this guy has an online store on ebay, which means he pays listing fees regardless. It's probably only 20 cents each time it renews (every 30 days), but still.
