The Awesome Finds Thread

Those are some CLEAN C-64 and Vic-20 pics. Doesn't look like either suffers from the usual plastic discoloration.

I have the same style Commodore monitor, and I love the thing. I use it with an RGB converter for my Jamma test bench.

No picture (right now) but I went to a garage sale last year and found a complete Vectrex that they lady sold me for $1 - "Who would want a little black and white TV?"

well, i wouldn't exactly call this a steal, but i picked up a genesis 2 with nba jam te, mk2 and sonic 2 for $18 after a couple trade in games. came with the rca sega cable rather than rf and a 6 button controller. i'm psyched. haven't played sega in a long ass time. still remember getting my first genesis in 93 or so.

Speaking of Genesis I also just picked up a model 2 complete with 19 games with most in the original boxes for a grand total of $10 via CL. Lots of good titles like roadblasters, mutant league hockey etc. Gonna go fire it up!

I got a decent haul in recently, but I didn't take time to make note of everything. I'll do that later. I did play 2 of the games yesterday for a little bit, so I remember them:

Rampage World Tour (PSOne)
Gauntlet Legends (PSOne)

This should make up for my last post in this thread... Got this from a co-worker for free.

Robotron and Tooth Invaders are box and instructions only, no games. The other two are complete.

Here is the results of my "sticker removal" question. The first one we can see that there is significant fading on the Doom, the darker spot was where the sticker was. On the Food Fight you can see where the label was, and the white marks was when the alchohol started taking the silver off. I didn't notice it until too late.

The red box seems to be better than the blue box here. The blue one was the initial test I made before asking how to best remove them. As you can see the upper left corner of where the sticker was took off almost all the blue. My work afterwards saved most of it on the right. The red box may have been in better shape (at the microscopic level or who knows) as it did not cause the same problem of removing the sticker as the blue one.

I got all 5 games there for $8. I also got NBA 2K for Dreamcast (sealed in plastic still) but I left that one at home.

Overall not too bad. Nice score, too :)

if i remember right, i generally use rubbing alcohol to soak up in the sticker and then scratch it off. i've always been afraid of the goo gone etc type stuff because i don't want to damage the labels on the games.

I never post in this section but i came across this on my local CL.
http://houston.craigslist.org/vgm/2877255799.html

This was acually in KC and my wife was visiting family up there, so I worked out a trade with the seller. All this cost me 6 NES games and $11 in cash. Lots of extra's here up for grabs once I test everything. Never seen one of these before, looks like a neat system.
