The Awesome Finds Thread

Pretty cool find. Been collecting for years and never found one. Didn't realize how much they go for.

I have one on the shelf in the garage... I don't have the special switch box needed to power it up. :(

Need to build one I guess.

So trading Nintendo NES stuff lately, has done me well in the past six weeks, figured I would share the spoils.

Some might know what this is, others may have to search "Nintendo Storage Cart". I'm wondering if full size NOS Crystal Castles side art, would fit on this? j/k

Found at Amvets. Have not tested yet, but I have a couple CRTs I can experiment on. Future project, otherwise I'll just be one of those guys who people know has one.

While out here in Silicon Valley, I picked up a digital IC chip tester on Saturday for $60.

Does 74xx/4xxx and both x1 bit and x4 bit DRAMs.

Picked up some gaming goodies from a local that I did a cab deal with last week. She let me have 2 N64 controllers, some random Radio Shack universal power supply brick (LOL), an Xbox 360 Power supply (first version, the 203watt that works with ALL phat consoles), HD cables, wired Xbox 360 controller, xbox 360 remote, Xbox 360 earpiece, couple Madden games, 2 dead Xenon consoles (with clean working disc drives and hard drives still attached).

And the the coup de gras:

The Charge n Play kit with the transforming Dpad! SWEEET. I've been looking for an Xbox 360 gamepad with the transforming d-pad for a couple years now. I've never wanted to spring the $$$ needed for it though.

Got it all for $10! Schwing!

that grape n64 controller is a great score!

I usually don't post these but I think this was an exceptional score. $100 bought all these Atari games with boxes, over 50 of them. Also a Sears joystick in box and an Atari 2600 AC Adapter. All in all not bad, and I recouped half my money back from extras.

Had to make a long ass video about it too, so if you have about 30 minutes to kill then enjoy...

Not sure if this counts. I bought a bunch of wii games when the console was on its last leg and the games were dirt cheap. Picked up a couple of copies of this because it had just come out and was already hard to find. Checked the price on ebay recently and was surprised that open copies are going for at least $200. Didn't think it would get that high, especially so soon. Not sure if I should hold or sell now. I think the wii is fun to collect for, and has some underrated games.

Another great CL find. All this for $40...

That's a really, really, really good score. I wonder why stuff like that exisits on CL. Maybe people can't be bothered to co-ordinate meetups, or maybe someone looks at an ad in CL and thinks it is too good to be true? Maybe hipster console collectors don't have working cars? ;) I dunno.

There is/was a CL ad near me for something similar. I've stopped collecting for console stuff and decided that just flipping them would be sorta hypocritical (for me). Left it for someone else to hopefully enjoy. Got enough stuff to deal with anyways.

Just took home a clean ColecoVision from a hobby shop! It's in great shape cosmetically. However, I'm having horizontal static lines going up the screen. Does anyone here have any pointers as to how to rectify this? Thanks in advance! SO exited to own a ColecoVision again!

Do you have another crt tv to test it on? Are you connecting directly or thru a game-tv switch box?

Nice NecroBump.

Perhaps watch episodes 1-5 from ArcadeDoc for his ColecoVision repair(s). Maybe there's some knowledge there to help you.

Thanks for that tip! My ColecoVision now works flawlessly! I feel like my girls' age these days (11) lol. Tracking down cartridges for short money has been a fun activity for me this week!
