So over on atariage they have a thrift finds thread, and I was thinking we should do something of the same here. So post about any sweet console related finds. I have one I'll be posting once I get home/

The coolest thing to show up at the office recently was one of these statues:

(maybe not in the theme of your thread, but Skyrim's played on consoles...)

so here's my awesome find:

Heavy Sixer #59872K

So, we went to a local indoor flea market type place yesterday, and they usually have atari systems and whatnot for sale. I went looking for games and joysticks, and I noticed this gem in the pile o systems. They were asking $70 for it as a complete system, but I straight traded them my 4-switch 2600 and $20 for this. Took it apart, cleaned it, painted the bezel border, and it looks awesome. I have to say, the heavy sixer definitely looks and feels a lot more solid than any of the other 2600 varieties.

This year's garage sale finds have resulted in the following:

Gameboy $2
Gameboy Advance SP $12
Nomad $5

that's pretty cool. it's like a multi cart for the 2600.

on the finds side, i found an intellivision the other day at a antique/collectible shop and flipped it to a game store for $10 profit. had 9 boxed games.

Got a boxed NES Challenge Set (minus the SMB3 game...frowns) for $13 at a garage sale about a month ago. Working on acquiring a nice CIB SMB3 at a decent price to finish off the set. Still needs to be Retr0Brighted and cleaned, but was good for the price.

FYI Just incase you didn't know you'll want the Challenge version of CIB SMB3. Will have a stripo of packing tape going around it that says challenge set or challenge version, can't remember correctly, good luck. Should cost around 25-30 bucks for a nice copy so not terrible.

Edited to add, around 6 months ago, I picked up a sweet blue nintendo soft carrying case. Some silly guy sold it to me. This is actually a joke as it was Cleverlyj that sold it to me, so I wanted to see if he picked up on it. Currently have all my PC-10 pcb's in it, and it works great for that.

just kidding. i actually noticed another one of these at a game store right near my house. not sure the price, but if anyone potentially wants one, pm me, i'll go see what their price is and figure out what shipping to you would be.

Since I moved I have seen very little activity at all on Craigslist, and even less concerning Nintendo games. So, my wife found a post on Facebook from our previous location. My mom met the person selling it and we picked it up when we went home for Christmas:

This one was found at a new vendor in town while I was visiting during Christmas (box/manual only, already have the game):

I have found tons of cool gaming stuff at garage sales and thrift stores. Best one that comes to mind was a Zaxxon Tabletop game for $1.00. Missing the battery cover, but it worked perfectly.

I can't wait until next spring for the new garage sale season. I had a pretty good year last year.

thats a good lil score right there! looks like the sideart stickers are nice too. always seems like the stickers always have a ton of wear.

From Salvation Army today:
Spectravideo Quickshot IV (Atari 2600)

NASCAR Pinball (PC)
Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption (PC)
Madden NFL 94 (Genesis)
Pit-Fighter (Genesis)
MVP Baseball 2003 (Xbox)
Fuzion Frenzy (Xbox)
Madden NFL 07 (Xbox)
World Championship Poker (Xbox)
ESPN Football (Xbox)
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003 (Xbox)
Madden NFL 06 (Xbox)
Sega GT 2002 JSRF (Xbox)
NHL 2002 (Xbox)

NFL Street (Xbox) case with 007 Nightfire disc (Xbox)
NHL 09 (PS2) case
Madden NFL 2005 (Gamecube) case
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 (Xbox) case

Normally I would check every thing I buy first, making sure it had the correct game or a game inside. But this was a bulk buy at the Salvation Army I had today, so it was a take it or leave it kinda thing. The lady gave me a wicked discount. This buy also included the following VHS tapes:

Transformers: Satellite of Doom/When Continents Collide (See& Read)
Fatal Fury 2: The New Battle
Lawnmower Man 2: Jobe's War
Split Second (Rutger Hauer)
Stephen King's World of Horror
Battle Arena Toshinden
Project A-KO OAV (was in the kids videos lol)

All this for $20! So I'm not going to complain about the 4 games that had no game in it, especially since I don't even own an Xbox or a Gamecube... :p

Also, a co-worker says he thinks he has a Vic-20 in his parents basement he is going to try and find and bring in for me!

Value Village huh? I never understood their pricing. Nice SSMB. I just sold a cart only on EBay 2 days ago for $33.

NICE THREAD!!!!!

Dug out all my old gaming stuff about a year ago and that got me into collecting again. Now i search craigslist all day and hit the Flea market and Garage sales on the weekend. Got a whole room dedicated to my old gaming stuff now. (can't believe my wife actually let that slide! But shes awesome!)

Anyway, the most recent pickups I got were :

Road Rash 3 for sega

some 3DO game that I can't think of the name right now.

GTA2 for dreamcast

and going to meet a guy for a nice Colecovision Lot that I found. In the box and he has some extras.

I think we should make a trading thread too. or integrate it into this one somehow. Put up a list of what games you have to trade and and try to work out some deals that way. Nice way to expand your collection. What do you guys think?
