The addams family swamp and uncle fester led mods...

How do they work? I like the idea of lighting up the kickout holes for the swamp and under the chair but don't feel like paying $30 a pop.

I feel like a $1 bulb holder , a led bulb and 12" of wire would get this done. Not sure exactly though, maybe the mods out there selling for $30 are small led pcbs or something?

+1

I'd like the DIY route too!
Somebody document these!

Please someone correct me if I am wrong.. But, I think it is as simple as this:

Find out voltage of source you are tapping into. Know the voltage requirement of the LED you are using. IF different voltage required, install appropriate resistor inline between power source and appropriate leg of LED. Tie other leg to the ground.

Wahlah, LED lighting.

The LEDs must be 5vac. They run off the general lighting circuits, ie the lights that are on all the time next to the flippers. For the $30, you get what appears to be 20 gage speaker wire attached to some alligator clips to hood to the general lighting sockets on one end, and the lamp holder on the other. I just installed the bookcase and swamp lights and they look great...

Basically, it's just alligator clips, wire, and a lap holder with an LED in it. The since the LED runs off the general lighting circuit, any 5vac LED should work, but don't quote me.

I just added a light to brighten up the bookcase area and added two bulbs under the swamp to give it a green glow. Looks very nice. Took about 5 minutes and cost about, I dont know...$5-7? Just tied them into the GI lighting.

Where did you get the cone LED for the bookcase?

Love the bookcase graphics!
I bought those and the THING box labels, have yet to get time to apply them.
