The 2011 Post-CAX "Now I want a ___" Thread

Last year, I left CAX wanting Mad Planets, Sea Wolf, and a Warlords cocktail. I sold some games, cleared room, and now they're all comfortably nestled in my house.

I had a feeling I was going to leave CAX this year wanting a Space Ace. I've been playing it (along with Dragon's Lair and DL2) a lot lately on my iPhone and PS3. Playing it in an actual upright, however, sealed it for me. I want one.

Now I've gotta decide which game to let go in order to clear space/funds. Probably my Sinistar Cockpit (or maybe I can find someone who wants to trade?).

Space Ace got the most attention from me this weekend. The silver medal goes to Reactor. It's a blast, but too rich for my blood. Same thing with Quantum, which I also played for quite awhile.

So what games do you think you might chase now that CAX is drawing to a close? I love hearing about that sort of stuff.

I still want a Reactor, and a 720. Both games are really, really fun and both have great cabinets.

I wish I could have played Paperboy with Rich (skater) more. I got to play it 3 times total because it was ALWAYS being played. I got to play 1 doubles game with him and it was my game playing highlight of the weekend. I had a 115K score up there but I'm sure he beat it today. Good times.

Awesome to meet you Jow! Playing paperboy with you and 720 with Jeff were definitely my highlights of the show. I hogged paperboy today and got a 131,620 on easy street. I lost a life and missed one delivery on that run. I'm so stoked to have room for games again because that one will come back!

I really want a Sundance, now.

I need another paperboy and thanks to the show I want alpine skier now! I totally forgot about that game and the childhood memories came rushing back.

BLOCK-A-SHOT was pretty awesome and something very different.
I didn't get to try out that Billy Bowl also...

Varkon, Electric Yo-yo, Dark Knight pinball, Zookeeper, Varkon, I tried a lot of new games this time, walked up to them and tried to figure them out. Sometimes I could, sometimes I couldn't.

Oh, and Varkon ;)

One of my most wanted games will be loaded UP tonight, and Hydro thunder will finally be in the game-room. cax really showed me that I had a good idea what games I wanted. Pinbot is number one the list. Robotron is a close second. I never saw the star Trek next generation unplayed all weekend, so Ireally don't know if I still want it. I haven't played it ins few years. I don't know if I want one, but I hade good time playing Trog. I still want an Area 51 as well, so l think I will get one this year. I enjoyed Black widow, but I need to spend some more time with it to see if I want one.

-Tales of the Arabian Nights
-Revenge From Mars
-Liberator
-Mad Planets
-Twilight Zone
-Xenon
-Omega Race Cocktail

-Liberator

oooooh, i forgot that. i played that and expected it to be very missile command-esque, but it's actually not. i played quite a few games of that, and i enjoyed it.

and mad planets, i don't know if i'd own one yet, but it is fun to play, i just suck at it. even though the games i played were relatively quick, i enjoyed it. my low scores were just weak.

Do you know about the 20th anniversary PC edition?

I certainly enjoyed PinBot, JackBot, Theatre of Magic, and South Park pinballs. I would like to try to land one of those in the next year. What I would also like to do is change my Asteroids, Ms. Pac Man and GORF into Cabaret cabinets. I like the smaller footprint.

Space Dungeon - never played it, but can't wait to play it again. thanks for bringing it.
Millipede - then add the multipede... $250 for that cocktail (with light-up trackball) was a nice grab for that guy.
Tapper/Timber - again, thanks for bringing these. can't get enough...
Zaxxon - finally ended up liking it last week, over at the Galloping Ghost Arcade.

and lots on pinballs... mostly late 70's, early 80's.

too bad the monitor was so dim on liberator (unless there was 2 of them. the one by the cocktails need to be adjusted). Its a very underated game..

glad someone liked trog.. My brothers kids dig it, but his high school buddy did not.. Next year I might set it up with a trog1 (bone trog) board.

Very cool of frank to take tapper timber and reactor(plus 7 more) to the show. Poor guy was not even able to attend..
