The 12-11 Harrisburg Auction thread

Did anyone else get the hard sell routine from the guy with the JVL touchscreen game? It didn't look like a bad game at all and he was willing to let it go at a reasonable price. But his main selling point was how great the porn was on it compared to the Merit games. Ok maybe that is true but I don't know if it was worth going on for fifteen minutes about. Not once but twice he told me about it. Apparently he didn't recognize me from the first time.
It was funny and creepy at the same time.

the tron at auction was broke when we got there unless someone fixed it immedatly while it was going off. the controls were broke and it just kept going down like it was stuck.

the outrun i picked up was dedicated but i have plans for it. cap kit on the monitor. converting it over to a turbo since i have the deluxe sitdown outrun with a turbo installed. instead of buying a working board i figured just grab the stand up. no in terribly bad shape but not in the worse either.

Personal hygeine is always bad at the auction. It is a given that you will not find Howie Mandel there.

The worst one yesterday was the guy in the big jacket that REEKED of stale pot. How did the smell get so strong? Did he sit in an enclosed chamber with Cheech and Chong? Someone else had to smell that dude.

I had a good day. Got some great deals on NFL/NBA, Crisis Zone with 100% working gun, NBA Showtime, Warzaid, and GT 2005. Snagged a newer Smart showcase crane working for 150, and a great beaver bulk rack for 175.

Best part was Darryl was bidder number 211, and I was bidder number 187. Next auction, we're going to rob and murder everyone.

Sold all the pinballs I brought... pins were LIGHT at this auction! They're getting tough to come by!

I'm actually considering the 7+ hr trek to Kingsport in January. I had a great time.

The guy who owned the Tron fixed it a couple of times. Just the leaf switches needing some attention. One guy there appeared to be trying to damage the joystick on the game and apparently succeeding a few times. I didn't think that you could knock those leaf switches out of adjustment by just using the stick but after seeing this guy in action, I believe it now. He was grabbing the stick with both hands and slamming it back and forth.
I thought he was trying to drive the price down but he never actually bid on the game.

And people wonder why I don't want to rent or loan out my TRON for the movie debut.. ;)

Price list for Harrisburg

Any one make price list for the final hammer price on the games that were sold?

Thanks.

Now thats what I call an auction!! :D
That warehouse probably had 10x the quantity and quality of the last 5 so Cal Auctions, And the vid only showed the first half. 2 punchouts. wow!
Curious on prices if anybody got em.

Well,Judging by the video it's a good thing I stayed home Saturday. The selection didn't grow much in quantity in comparison to what I saw there friday night. I guess it's the time of year and December should be a no brainer to not hold an auction. The last Harrisburg auction was packed with games and people, attendance was very low this time around. I'm just going to stick to buying my games wholesale.

lol What did Darryl get? I'm sure he probably got a few cabs. I bumped into him at the last PA auction and asked him what else he was getting,he said he was done and was going home. HAhahah yeah right!! Next thing I saw he was bidding on something else.

Here's a link to some auction pics

The selection was about what one would expect nowadays. Seemed well-attended from my POV. I hope they come back.

Cannot believe that Lemans (collapsed horizontal/severe water damage) got $90 at hammer. With fees that bumps it up to $109.
