So I see this listing on ebay in which the seller asks for help in identifying how to hook a trackball to a Global Arcade Classics Machine. Here's the text from the auction:
I've worked a lot with Ultracades and GACs so I sent him this response:
To which he responded:
Not the response I'd expect from someone who was asking for help. So I responded:
To which he responded:
The email he attached didn't tell me anything that would contradict what I know to be true. The machine should work with a USB trackball.
Anyway...I guess this is what I get for trying to be helpful. I have no idea whether this guy is a KLOV member or not. I thought I'd post this so that anyone thinking of dealing with this guy (atlantaarcades) on ebay would be cautioned. The link to the auction is below:

This auction is for a fully working GlobalVR "Global Arcade Classics" computer... the computer only... no cabinet, no control panel, no monitor, and no USBlinx PC/JAMMA interface board.
See third image above for complete game list.
Use it to replace the PC in your dead Global Arcade Classics cabinet, or upgrade your older Ultracade or Arcade Legends cabinet, or build your own using an iPac (or similar button/joystick-to-PC communications board) and any monitor capable of 640x480 VGA support. PLEASE NOTE: The trackball functionality in games that use the trackball will NOT work unless you use the USBLinx controller from any Ultracade, Arcade Legends, or Global Arcade Classics cabinet as a go between from your trackball to the PC... I have tried using an Ultimarc OptiPAC and a standard HAPP trackball hooked up to this and it will not recognize the trackball, but if I wire the same trackball to a USBLinx and run the USB output from the USBLinx board into this PC, everything works flawlessly. Not sure what encoding the USBLinx does that makes this PC (with the JoshuaOS drivers) see the trackball... and I doubt there is a way to get around this since the JoshuaOS and USBLinx are so closely tied together.... If you know how to hook a trackball up directly whereby it works without going through the USBLinx, please advise us, and many thanks!
I've worked a lot with Ultracades and GACs so I sent him this response:
A USB trackball will work if plugged directly into the USB ports of the computer.
To which he responded:
You are wrong Sir... not only have we tried that with several different usb trackballs, we also spoke directly with David Foley who designed and manufactured the system. Try not to speak about things for which you don't know, you look stupid.
Not the response I'd expect from someone who was asking for help. So I responded:
Wow. Sorry that my trying to be helpful make me look stupid to you. I've been repairing Ultracades, Arcade Legends and Global Arcade machines for 7 years. All of them have the the USB human interface device drivers as part of the Joshua OS that David had developed. I just confirmed again that a USB Trackball will work when plugged into a USB port once the machine is restarted. It will even work with a standard USB mouse. If it's not working on your machine, you have a USB problem, or a driver installation problem. Good Luck with your sale.
To which he responded:
Here is a copy of the text directly form David Foley.... eat sh*t know it all.... ther is NOTHING at all wrong with the PC dip sh*t.
The email he attached didn't tell me anything that would contradict what I know to be true. The machine should work with a USB trackball.
