ThatArtGuy's Track and Field Scratch Build

I found that I don't have to worry about the coin door. It is aluminum, so no rust worries there.

As for the tally, I would have to guess since I didn't keep a log. The wood alone was roughly 350 CDN, 200 for the CP, 300 for the chassis and rebuilding, 20 for the TV tube, artwork was roughly 300, coin door was 150, buttons were 100, JAMMA switcher was 100, light was 30, T-molding 50, metal parts another 150...

1750 is what I am guesstimating, but I still need a glass to put in and I didn't include the prices for the PCBs, or the laminate, or the little stuff that I am probably forgetting.

Sent off Mach Breakers to Ontario for repair yesterday. Sent Hyper Sports: Rearranged to Richmond, BC for repair today. Hopefully, both will be fixed and rock solid soon.

Took a moment today to play Numan Athletics (fully working!) and filled out the records with my initials.

I made some mistakes, so there is room for improvement. However, I am the one that plays this machine mostly, so I think it will stand until I break them.

Minor update. Changed out the buttons with higher quality ones. The ones without clips didn't go straight up and down and would randomly plunge in random directions. Clipped buttons also have stronger springs, so it is a trade off.

You can always trim the springs for less tension.

I just had a question for measurements I could make for the bezel above the monitor. I took it off of my official TnF cab and the measurements for it are:

Height: 17 11/16"
Width: 23 5/8"
Depth: 3/16"

@DK Raised sent me a sticker months ago of my recreated FBI sticker; and I lost it. A new one came in recently and I trimmed it down and placed it on my machine. (Yes, the black edges are to be trimmed off.)

Looks a little more official now.

Thanks, DK Raised.

Yeah, yeah, yeah... I know. I should be working on my Joust cocktail restoration. However, I finally took some initiative on my empty TnF cabinet and took some measurements. The plans on classicarcadecabinets.com need more information to be complete. Also, my machine has the smaller coin door hole instead of the over/under hole they have on the website.

@bdn103 You are more than welcome to use these pictures and measurements on your site. Please double check my work, but hopefully they are correct. The main thing I wanted to measure is the bracing. With the holes for the bolts, it is fairly straight forward to figure out where the boards go, but the monitor shelf was a PAIN! Now we actually have measurements. Some of the pieces on the site don't seem to have the angles that some of the pieces are supposed to have.

Now for fun:

1. 27mm from edge (See pictures)
152mm length (6")

2. 114 length
25.4mm from front edge (1") (See pictures)

3. 291mm length (7 11/16")
A. 29mm from angled front edge
B. 41.28mm from front angled edge
C. 495.3mm from rear
D. 103.188 from top

4-6 braces use coordinates from the bottom and rear edges of cabinet.

4.
A. 1395mm 131mm
B. 1591mm 258mm
C. 1584mm 273mm
D. 1384mm 147mm

5. 451.61 length
A. 114mm 1365mm
B. 125.4mm 1381mm
C. 485mm 1109.6mm
D. 476mm 1094mm

6. 285.75 length
A. 435mm 979.5mm
B. 438mm 974.725mm
C. 303mm 728.66mm
D. 285.75mm 739mm

The rest of the measurements are parallel and perpendicular to the cabinet.
They use edge references.

Now for some of the more oddly shaped parts. I should have been more clear on my rear coin measurements (the last picture), but I may have take more pictures for reference.

I had to correct some of the rotations on the pictures. @bdn103 Do you need any other pictures?

Okay. I had to doctor (Photoshop) number 17 since the brace came off wrong. I think as the picture shows, the black area in front of the wood part is the brace and the wood part is actually the back coin box area wall. So that would be the back wall of the inside that is thin and goes across. I think I have the required measurements, but let me know if I have to get in there again.

The bottom shelf that goes in there also has a little area ground out for the coin box arm. I might have to measure that out if I can.
