I've been playing games with my 3 1/2 year old pretty much every day. We play consoles and arcade games together. The last month or so I had the NES hooked up in his room. After supper he was up playing, then the 1 1/2 old boy went in his room, he must have pulled his diaper off cause he peed on the NES. I took it apart and there was alittle spot of pee on the main pcb. I've taken it apart twice in the last hour. I can get it too work but it only works like 10 seconds then freezed, the sprites usually turn to garbage, it's acting really funky, never see a NES do this before. Pissed me off 'cause I put a new pin connector in there, and this was the only NES I have left, I gave away my other 2 to friends in the last couple years. Man I have beaten like a dozen NES games in the last 2 weeks, he loves to watch me play. Now i've got to find anther NES somewhere, its sucks not being able to play. The NES is the best system ever. Now i'm going for a smoke to calm my nerves.

Dont be so Pissy. Seriously though that does stink. I have a child on the way myself so I will learn from this for sure.

Wow! That's awful. My 3 year old doesn't mess with my NES but she can't play it either. She's getting pretty good at a couple of my uprights, though. She can do about 2500 on Speed up Ms. Pac or about 2000 on regular speed Pac-man.

Sounds like he pissed in your Corn Flakes also.
Just kidding, it sucks when the kids did things like that to me also, but wouldn't change a thing watching them grow older. Give it time, you'll soon be laughing at the whole ordeal.

Have you tried using a hairdryer to see if it works after the pee is dried?

I would wash it with hot water, and use a hot hair dryer on it for a long time. Water doesn't hurt elecctronics as long as you thoroughly dry it, and maybe you might get some of that dried pee out of it.

from the post it sounds as if it was powered on while being pee'd on...

Just took a look around here, people want more for an SNES console than they do for a Gamecube... seems odd... cheapest one I could find was $50.

Hey, the 3 1/2 year old boy has been playing Kirby on NES for like 20 minutes now. Fingers crossed... He's been playing games since he was alittle over 2 years old. He's good at them too. He recently started playing Mario 2 and can easily get past the first level beating Birdo. He loves the Arcade games. Me and him beat Metal Slug together a few nights ago. I'll put on a machine and he'll be out in the garage for hours playing. Helps the wife out too, keeps the oldest one busy with the games. Yeah, I love me 3 kids more then anything. I know i'll laugh at the peeing on the NES, it just pissed me off alittle. ... He just opened my door telling me he needs help with the boss. Laters.

Send me your address and I'll paypal you ten bucks to bid on one from Ebay...

It is a funny story though- I guess he's too young to read about the dude that pissed on the power line today and got electrocuted, eh?

Wow, that sucks! Kids do some crazy things!

I have a friend of mine that has kids that I swear are just nuts... His daughter will take his cell phone and throw it in the toilet (lol) just for fun, and one time when I was over there his daughter walked over to the pantry, grabbed a box of taco shells, threw them on the floor, and stomped the hell out of them. I laughed so damn hard that I almost pissed my pants.... of course I was the one who was scolded because my laughing encouraged the behavior.. but holy crap that is some crazy stuff.

Hope it works once it dries??? lol. Just spray it with some Febreze :)

Haha...

I think it's good now, I played though a full game of Renegade.

I should have known. You can't kill a NES.

clean it and then put the PCB in a container of uncooked rice overnight.

The rice will wick away the moisture.

Hopefully it will fire up after that.

Feed your NES a banana. It calms it down after it is irate from being peed on.

I bought one of those 3rd party NES and it works great was only like 40 dollars this was a few years ago probably would be easily replaced. Too funny though of all the things to pee on. Reminds me of when my nephew stuck a sandwich in my moms vcr.
