That one person that you just can't get a game from no matter what.
For the past 19 yrs I have been trying to get a pristine Galaga from a semi-local hobby shop that I frequent with no luck. The story is that the shop owner only makes money from the machine and does not own it. She says that it belongs to a family friend that is not willing to sell it. All these years it killed me to sit in the pits next to the racetrack every Saturday staring at that machine knowing that I could'nt have it. The game was put into the shop the week it released and has been there ever since. It's super clean only needing the CPO replaced, everything else is still there and all original. The picture is crisp and the controls work flawlessy. The bezel needs to be taken out and the underside cleaned as it has never been done so its foggy but still playable. I'd love to know how many plays are on the meter as they should be pretty low being in a hobby shop all it's life. She has also had a pristine Outrun full size upright since it was new but it recently sold. I also tried to get that machine but it was never for sale. Of course after all these years of begging and pleading she sold it after I had already obtained one. Anyway,I had'nt been to the shop in over a year but was in town this weekend and decided to pay a visit to see if the Galaga was still there and it is. I dropped in a quarter and got my best score ever at wave 15, 81,830 points. Nothing ground breaking but a best for me. Anyway, have you ever had that one game that you have been trying to get from a single person for years but they just wont give it up,eventhough it will go to a better home?
Sorry for the long story.
