Thanksgiving gatherings and your games

My wife cooked the turkey and everything for lunch and it was wonderful as usual. We will likely have leftovers for supper. We were going to spend the day at my parents' house but my dad is working for the Evil Empire (Walmart) today. My mom is visiting tomorrow to babysit while my wife and I work but that's about it. 3 years ago, we had pretty much the entire family over and most of them played the games and really got into it. Nothing this year, but that's ok.

Anyone having people over for Thanksgiving? We are and hopefully the games will hold up well if they get play. Oddly enough it's been more the young kids that want to get go downstairs to play these old games. I was hoping to get my Star Wars Trilogy back up and running before then, but it's not looking likely.

YUP!! last year at christmas everybody was downstairs.
Today almost a year later the kids of the familty are still talking about that day.

heh.. its fun to watch kids discover this stuff, its even more fun to watch older realitives reconnect with thier youth through the machines..

well, all is said and done. feel.ging pretty good right now, cleaned the ,kicthen after my lovely wife cooked. ended up that ice cold beer got 95% of the playing, minus a few gtames of ms pacman on my 6 pac. nothing else really got played, except satan'ms hollow byq me and a couple ogf games of tronl.

I had my some people play centipede, niece played some ms pac and the little ones all wanted to play california speed. My 2 year old son loves the racing games. My nephew was playing with my son on his lap after the 6th time and we were ready to shut it off for the night my son started freaking out , crying sayinh "more cars" very cute.

Most people that come over look at me like i'm crazy for putting these machines in my house and the question they always ask is why i dont just settle for a xbox, wii,or playstaion. They just dont understand

Well as I expected the kids spent a lot of time downstairs this evening. The most popular game was my Donkey Kong upright, but the pins received a lot of play as well. Twilight Zone had a switch failure from a wire that broke loose, but I was able to fix it on the fly. It also had a problem that returned even though I swear I had it figured out a few months ago. One other thing that got the most play was my Pink Panther pachislo machine. I was disappointed I couldn't get my Star Wars Trilogy back up and running this week, but hopefully I can before my planned New Year's party. I'm crossing my fingers to get my QuadraPong board back by then and I think it's time to just send my Pole Position board to Dick Millikan for repair.

Mostly my younger cousins played the arcade games (they are aged 6-13). All 3 of my games managed to stay running perfectly for the 2 hours or so they were on, but the coin mech on Frogger did get jammed up after someone decided it would be a good idea to put a key down the coin slot! :D
