Thanksgiving Break of Awesomeness - Pics of Games Acquired

This was an awesome Thanksgiving break. I acquired a bunch of games, some of which are personal "grails".

First on Tuesday night, I got a Dartboard, Circus Charlie and Sega Hot Rod in a bulk deal. None of which I really want in my collection. Hot Rod is entertaining to work on, and proving a bit challenging to get running. As soon as it is working, it will be for sale. Circus Charlie is already for sale (and possibly sold).

Then on Wednesday night, I drove about 1 1/2 hours (one way) to pick up a personal grail, Sega OutRun. This one will live in the collection. Not currently working, but I'll restore it. :)

The guy with the OutRun also had some other cabinets. I swung a deal on the spot for a cut-corners Dynamo that's currently playing Strikers 1945. Monitor is dead, cabinet is really structurally destroyed. I'll be fully restoring this one, too.

Thursday, I ate some turkey...

Friday, I picked up an Asteroids that happens to be in a LUNAR LANDER CABINET!!! (Asteroids serial number, too!!) Also has a horrible Willis CPO, but I'll correct that in due time.

Later on Friday, I picked up another personal "grail". Sega Super Monaco GP. It's probably been 15 years since I've SEEN one of these, much less thought I'd ever stumble on one that was for sale.

Last but definitely not least, believe it or not the thing I'm MOST EXCITED about from this week's run of games... On Saturday I picked up a Neo Geo Gameroom Classics Countertop. This one is having a power issue of some sort, but I'll be converting it to full JAMMA and bypassing the internal power supplies. My OCD won't let me do that without repairing the original board first though. Hehhehe. (Picture coming soon of this one!!)

Dam you've been busy. Where one earth are you putting it all? You must
be renting storage now.

Nope. Creative selling previous to buying. Also made it through some backlogged work I had (fixing of cabinets for myself and others). LOL

The issue now is that the garage is full of stuff I (mostly) want to keep! So now I'm stuck, I can't sell things to open space.

I still have a pinball I'm working on for a friend's customer, and I have one or two items that will be moving into the house for the winter. That will open up a bit more space. Hot Rod will be vacating the premises one way or the other (working or not) soon as well.

I'm still refusing to rent space. This hobby already costs me enough cash. :)

Nice pickups..

Don't think I have ever seen circus charlie put into a galaxian before..

I don't think I have ever noticed a hot rod upright... I have seen the cocktail several times. Probably pretty rare. Looks in nice shape!

Someone got creative and fixed the outruns broken bezel and did a decent job.. IF its a keeper try to find the upgraded B gear..

Nice cabinet for the strikers, someone got creative to put a 19" monitor into that 25" cabinet..

about a year ago I ran into a guy who I am pretty sure had a water damaged super monaco gp upright that actually worked.. So if you need parts, I think he was willing to part it out..

Thanks :)

It's in decent overall shape. We'll see if I can breathe some life into it. Worked on it most of today, will continue soon.

They used a nice textured paint, it doesn't look too bad in person. I'd love to get the original bezel, but we'll see. It's definitely a keeper. I have to get it properly booting first, but will work on the rest later. Seems like it's going to need a spring for the steering too, as it's not properly centering.

Yep, I noticed this. I had one of these a while back and while I know they sold some 19" models, I was pretty sure this was the 25" model. I think someone dropped this cabinet (badly) at one time which might explain the missing 25" monitor.

Hmm, if you can hook me up I'd appreciate it. Monaco is actually fully working, but there are a handful of things I might be able to use. I suspect I'm going to have a suicide battery to deal with inside of it, but I'll cross that bridge in a week or so. Probably will start with just replacing the suicide battery, but want to go the more permanent route of burning the non-encrypted ROMs. I think I found the ROMs, just need to figure out what revision of the game I have here.

Thanks!

Hmmmm, I've missed THOSE payments ;)

You know you don't have to rent :)

I think he's learned from my woes that storage is not a good route, although it cleaned up my garage nicely :)

His "storage" gets my games fixed :) Win-win!

I kid, but it's great to store things for Todd. He brings over decent, working machines. He gets storage, I get machines I would not normally get to play (or own). Works well for me. Hope he feels the same way, LOL. That Super Monaco sure looks fun! (hint...hint).

;)

Awesome pick ups for sure.

An interesting sidenote. I was visiting my wife's family this weekend, and they live right near Quakertown. As we were driving there I kept thinking that there were klov members from Quakertown. Now I know it was Silverunicorn and EagleTG.

Okay, maybe it wasn't an interesting sidenote, but still.

Nice pick up Eagle. You drove right past my house to get that strikers and Outrun. I have been trying to get that Outrun from him for $100 since June but he just would'nt budge. That board will cost at least $100 to replace and that plastic dash will be near impossible to find. I have one in the basement that I was going to use on that machine but if your interested it can be yours. I also have an extra monitor bezel and steering mechanism assembly. My Outrun is complete and I was going to buy the one you have now to flip but now that obviously won't be happening lol. Is that Strikers the one that was on Ebay for $50??

Hahah, busted. He took my offer of a bit more than $100 on the Outrun. I'm going to repair the board myself, or at least attempt to.

I am looking for the plastic dash, I'll shoot you a PM on the one you have.

Not sure if this Strikers was on eBay... If it was, I missed it. I paid more than $50 for it, so shame on me if it was. LOL. It's worth it just for the JAMMA board alone to me. (Vertical SHMUPS are one of my "things".)
