Good morning folks,
I'm Nicole, grateful to be added to the forum, I have a k4600 I've been working on. I am a huge Crystal Castles fan, but pretty much grew up with Namco and Atari classics. Fav PC series was King's Quest and Shivers for sure.

Currently working on a K4600, so wish me luck. Went from a completely dead monitor to almost working, so we're getting there!

Anyways, good to be here, have a great rest of the week!

Hi there, and welcome to the forum.

Do yourself a favor and add your location to your profile, and enable it to be shown with your posts. Most folks here are set up that way, so we can see where everyone is in the world.

I'm not sure what the exact steps are do to it these days, maybe someone can chime in who has done it recently. (I know it's changed once or twice, and may need to be specified in your VAPS account, if not your forum settings.)

Also, a pro tip: Learn to use the Advanced Thread Search. There are thousands of threads about k4600's here, with every problem and solution you could ever want. (And the same goes for just about every other problem with every other game.) The archives here are a gold mine.

I believe these are the steps to update your location:

1. Click "Main Site"

2. Click Account > Account tab

3. The City and State/Province fields are listed on that page.

4. Then click the "Preferences" tab and make sure your location privacy is allowed for others to see.

Thanks, I'll try and do this today when I get a break from work. It would be nice to browse through all of the settings since this is my first time on a forum like this.

I too was a King's Quest fan. I remember playing through the first one over and over.

I also remember having played III a bunch. Pretty sure I played II but remember nothing about it.

Don't think I played any others in the series.

I played KQ 1-3 before getting hooked on Space Quest and others.

Welcome, Nicole!
It's nice to see another Namco fan here. I have a Ms. Pac Man cabaret and I just added a Rally-X cabaret. I also have a Dig Dug upright.

I had limited computer access in the 80's, so couldn't play the Sierra games much. But I did subscribe to their newsletter and King's Quest II took a lot of my time.

I never had good access to a computer that could play the later versions sadly. Tried playing KQ IV on Apple II in high school, but the time limit thing killed it for a guy without a supported computer at home.

I bought KQ III for the Color Computer 3 brand new from Radio Shack. But I still haven't found time to play it. :ROFLMAO:
Last fall I pulled the Cocos (2 and 3) out and set them up. This fall I intend to play a lot.

Good luck on your K4600 monitor repair!
And welcome again to KLOV.

Welcome to the jungle, we got fun and games! Repairing CRT chassis is a blast. I remember my first....... a really messed up K7000 25". I made that first order from Peter at APR and now I own stock..... well it feels that way. Ive done a few 4600's myself, fun chassis to repair, not bad.

Also, YouTube up Mike's Amateur Arcade Monitor Repair, fantastic info.

Enjoy your stay.
