Decided to give this a try today. I used the Megatron toy from the same line as the other toys in the game and retrofitted it to my game. It still needs some tweaking and a permanent mounting solution (I used zip-ties for now, ha!). So far, I like it.
I think I would like to get rid of the posts that held the original Megatron, but I didn't want to start hacking away at my LE as that mount also attaches to the canon. I figure I will try and make a replacement bracket instead.
The LED is the one that was on the back of the original Megatron but with a frosted LED in its place. I disabled the Megatron motor, and just tied up the actuator arm in the rear for now. There might be a problem with balls being stuck behind it, or at the least going in the Megatron lock. A custom plastic cover could solve that. I suppose with some ingenuity, the motor could be used to move something on the replacement Megatron.
Anyway, pics and a youtube link follow. Let me know what you think.
