Hello All:
I just recently purchased in a bulk buy 2 Sega Naomi 2 systems from an Initial D 3 (one is a complete set-up with Gd rom and power supply mounted onto the board, and one just the Naomi 2 board itself) along with a Sega Hikaru boardset from a Star Wars Racer, and want to test these out. I have a working Sega Naomi WWF Royal Rumble boardset mounted on the original wood with complete with power supply and jamma i/o board, and was wondering if I removed the connections from the back on the Naomi WWF mainboard and plugged it into the Naomi 2 systems or the Sega Hikaru system, would they work? In other words, are the plug-in commections for regular Naomi, Naomi 2, and Hikaru the same? Any useful input appreciated.

Depends on the I/O board and power supply in use.

The Capcom I/O supplies power from a standard JAMMA supply to the NAOMI 1 board. It doesn't supply enough current to run a NAOMI 2 board or GD-ROM/DIMM board. You can use it to test, but don't leave it in there as it will eventually kill the I/O.
