Testing a Taito Space Invaders Upright Power Supply

baz, thanks. I think quattrohead figured out the RAM issue. I am guessing since they are Midway factory boards I can just throw a set of Midway SI RAM in there.

Is the soldered rig pictured prior also factory issue? Have you seen that before?

If this is you collection http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/6041/55947337.jpg I am rather jealous. I am hoping to have an SI II upright shipped stateside within the year. I just love the Taito machines

he he yeah , there mine.
and now got a si taito part 2 on its way lol

Would it be right to assume that the wires were NOT soldered onto the sound board but had the 2 connectors from the factory ?
This machine has the sound board info sheet stapled to the inside that describes the Taito adjustment pots, I still think someone bodged the Midway sound board into it sometime later.

I showed orion3311 a photo and he said he is currently working on one with an identical soldered loop/sound board. Who knows? We may never find out.

I may pst a photo over on the Aussie forum, but two of the top SI guys ataritoobin and baz have already looked at it on here.

I'm pretty sure they're factory - a Midway board with Taito stickers on it. None of my other Midway boards have Taito stickers on them like this does.

Came back to this thread because I just noticed some of the wires are breaking off the solder points, and hoping to find a good pic to make sure I put them back right.

I'll take a photo tomorrow and send it to you DM me you email.

I got it already - you had a nice pic on there that worked perfectly. Just wanted to verify the order of the wires soldered to the connector. Thanks! :)
