Hi all,

I have been asked to look at a 6401 from an Aztarac. I do not currently have access to the cabinet.

From an initial look at the Aztrac schematics and other posts on this site I think I will would have to address the following:

I will need to make a specific adaptor cable to connect the 6401 to the 6100 cabinet as Aztarac uses a 12 pin connector for voltages and colours and separate 4 pin connector for the x-y signals.
The 6401 gets it heater voltage from a separate transformer on the Aztarac PSU (maybe I can take this from the 6100 cab without too many issues)?
I believe the 6401 needs +/- 42 volts whereas the 6100 uses +/-27V.

I have a fair bit or experience with repairing B&W, 6100 and Amplifone vector monitors but none on the 6401 (although much of it does look familiar).

Based on the high monetary value of this monitor and the above differences I am thinking it might just be easier (and safer to get the entire cabinet to me and run it from the correct supplies.

Has anyone tried to run one of these monitors successfully in a 6100 equipped cabinet??

Thanks in advance,

Gav
