Test bench setup & desktop shot. Post your desk up!

I am slowly but surely getting a decent test bench setup. My pace desolder station is on the way. I need to build a jamma test setup still...

Here is shot of where am at today... Post up your test bench!

Holy shit... Thats a big arse solder station. What is it?

Yea I was studying that Aoyue yesterday & today as well. I knew I was getting a desolder station this weekend just didn't know which one.

I threw enough money on a Pace this morning on ebay to buy that Aoyue and walked away with it for half the dough.

The Aoyue looks like a copy of the Hakko stuff- I wonder if the parts interchange?

Here's an old pic of my workbench, I use 3 benches in the basement, this wood worktop does anti-static duty:

Nice Setup. Mine is much less organized, but I have hopes....

PS: Mr. S: Glad to see you back on the air. Did your move work out?

Why do you have MardiGras titty beads hanging from the ceiling?

Lol Mike they came from Bob & Alice... Do you ship anything special from Maryland?

Absolutly, I throw a blue crab in with every order. I might have to stop, people are getting bit when they open their packages.

Here's an up to date shot of my bench. Its usually clean but im in the middle of a few things at the moment.

Why do you have that monitor mounted way up on the ceiling ?

Still trying to get everything organized, then maybe I can actually start learning how to use all of this stuff. Every minute of my life seems to be going to school these days, so who knows when that will happen.

BTW - The cat doesn't help much :)

....lack of space. Its out of the way and is at an angle where I can glance up and see it fine. You cant tell in the pic but its actually angled downward quite a bit. This was all supposed to be temporary until I get some walls framed up. Im almost to the point now where I can start building some rooms on that end of the basement.

Pcolson, I have a cat that looks just like that.

Not too surpising with that much coffee in him. ;)

PS: Mine don't help a lot either. Especially when it comes to cable ties. I can't leave them out any more or they end up all over the house.

I love these threads, its cool to see other peoples work spaces. Although mine might look dysfunctional its really quite efficient. I have most everything I need at arms length.

Seems like it's been 6 YEARS since anyone has continued this thread or even tried to start up a new one here on klov, so rather start a new one, i'll just breathe some life back into this relevant thread!

And to all the previous posters with oscilloscopes on their desk, how do you use them? lol i just bought one with no clue what to do, where to begin, how to use/test, etc... i know you just hook 'em up LIVE to the pcb similar to the logic probe. But there's so many connections for probes, volts, multipliers, verticals, horizontals, etc etc cray cray!
