Sounds just don't work...occassionally they will come on when I start it up but generally don't stay on for more than a minute.

I have reseated all connectors, checked the speaker wires...

All I get is some popping when I turn it on generally.

Any ideas ?

sounds like cold solder joints

then i would test any capacitors in the audio circuit with my ESR meter while i had the PCB out fixing the cold solder joints

calling in help

naaaw man you can do it

just take the board out flip it over and take a look
you have a soldering iron, riiiight ?

look for little cracks around where the header pins goes through the PCB board. the pins that the connector gets pressed on to with your fingers when you are removing/pressing on the connectors

not the real small little ones that looks like theres 80 of them. the bigger .056" ones

Heres what I have done.

I have checked for cold solder points.

I swapped the board for my BSD board, swapped the sound roms and whamo my terminator sounds are great. No popping on start up either.

So the sound chips are fine.
the board appears to have good solder
fuses fine.
voltage fine.

I popped the original termintor board into the BSD with the terminator roms in, and there were major sound issues.

So that being said I still have the problem... I've just narrowed the problem down to the board.

I can't solder well enough to work on this board.

Is there anyone who specializes in fixing these?
