Have worked through a ton of bugs and have the game almost in 100% working order.

-Playfield cleaning (done)
-New legs (installed)
-New rubber (installed)
-Cannon could not find home (fixed)
-Flipper Rebuild (done)
-Skull popup coil (replaced and fixed)
-Burnt GI molex connector (replaced)
-Dead bulbs (replaced)

My last and only remaining issue is the cannon. Loads properly, all audio cues are there and it starts to rotate left but will not fire when I hit the trigger. About halfway back the cannon fires on its own.

No switch errors. The trigger works perfectly when launching the ball at the start of the game, have also tested the cannon coil and it fires perfectly from the test screen. Will not fire with the trigger during gameplay though.

Have recently swapped power distribution boards also and the issue remains.

Would appreciate any ideas, thank you!

go into the canon test mode and make sure the at home and I think at ready are positioned correctly when the canon is moving. If they are then just press exit once and it will do its own cannon test, let that finish it usually takes a minute or so.

Ran through the gun test again and everything seems to be in order. Home position is perfectly aligned so the ball rolls right in and the gun swings back when it's supposed to.

Also let the gun calibrate twice, still experiencing the same problem.

More observations, if I don't touch the trigger at all the cannon will fire on it's own every single time. This happens about half an inch into the 1st trip back up.

If I repeatedly pull the trigger as soon as the gun starts moving the gun will fire on the 1st trip down about half an inch from bottom.

On a properly working T2, will the gun keep on going back and forth until you pull the trigger? Will it ever fire on its own if you wait too long?

The gun will unload the ball on its way back up, it sounds like either you have a flakey switch or the at ready is not adjusted correctly. Make sure in test mode when it is at ready that the gun is pointed between the ramp and the first white target it took me probably forty five minutes of adjusting and testing before I got mine right, it was a real PITA to say the least.

All this time I thought "at mark" was when the gun was at the bottom before swinging back up. I slid the "at mark" switch to the left to shorten up the gun travel and now it does not fire automatically anymore. It keeps rotating back and forth but won't let me fire either.

Think I'm onto something, thanks for the help! Will keep adjusting that switch, if "at mark" is between the ramp and first target then that's what I'll try today after work.

Success! After 3 weeks of working on this machine it's finally in working order, no more errors, everything working, no issues at all! It was quite a bit of work, it was dirty as hell and on location for years with more than a few issues.

Have to thank you for pointing towards those switches. I was sure they were both fine since the tests were not showing anything out of the ordinary. I kept moving the "at mark" switch and rerunning the gun calibration, still would not let me fire by hitting the trigger. It would just keep rotating and not fire on its own.

After the 4th or 5th time I noticed that the gun test screen stopped showing "at mark". Decided to replace the switch and diode, ran through the calibration once and it was firing with the trigger.

I never did get a check switch error, even after 50 games so I'm not convinced it was the switch. Possibly an intermittant failure.

Anyways, thanks for the help!
