I put a wanted posting up for arcade games on craigslist and someone emailed me with a terminator 2 arcade that they are trying to sell. Everything is in great shape with no water damage. I have never played terminator 2 before. Is it a pretty fun game that doesnt get old fast? Your thoughts or opinions of the game would be great. He is letting go for 225. Thanks.

Decent price for an arcade cabinet. One game doesn't make an arcade; they'll roast you alive for saying that here...

Its an ok game...Fun to have around I guess. very repetative after a while. I sold mine cause I was out of space and got bored with it. Everyone has fun trying it though and hearing arnold's voice in attract mode is pretty damn funny.

$225 seems like a nice price. A couple years ago you'd have to pay $400 for a T2.

The game is as fun as any other two-player shooter. The guns have a very cool rattling effect when they fire. This can be disabled if it makes gameplay too distracting. A T2 is a good investment IMO, because you'll be able to find a future buyer with the movie tie-in, should you choose to off it later on.

+1

Bought mine for $150, fixed it up, sold it for ~$600 when I got bored with it.

I paid 500 for mine in july, Its a great game and fun from time to time. Loved the movie frickin awesome even today. I would say buy it but if your not a fan of the series mayb skip it.

Fun game... just don't continue your way through the entire game or you will get bored fast. I plan on making a switch to turn the guns and off as the guns get a little annoying after a while (though the're required to really "immerse" yourself I suppose). Right now I have the left gun turned off (via removal of a fuse) and the right gun on...

Check the guns...make sure both work. Also, many people don't realize there is a half silvered mirror being used with "HIT" graphics behind them... make sure you install all the lights behind that silvered mirror and when you get hit, it will flash the bulbs and you'll see the hit graphic pop up... it's a cool effect and helps you know when you're getting hit.

Frizz I'm going to have to check that out- I don't think that is working on mine. Excellent tip!

Mine gets played alot during holiday events and bday parties, but it really is loud as hell- it annoys the crap out of the "elders" who are at my house during the event.

Then again, when have video games never annoyed the "elders"? I've been dealing with that since I had my Intellivision brand new!

There are like 8 to 10 lamps back there... many people don't realize that because Ops rarely changed the bulbs when they blew out. It's a cool effect for sure and worth the $15-$20 in lamps.

Yeah, there should be 8 of them, 4 per side, iirc. Buy a box of 906's from happ controls or betson, they're cheaper than getting them local. Change them all out, and it does make the game a bit more fun. Also, to the OP, beware. These games with guns mounted to the control panel are well-known to have issues with broken wires around the base of the guns. It's not a big deal to fix, but it is a constant issue that is directly proportionate to how often the guns are swiveled back and forth. Just be aware of it is all. Gamewise, it's decent, and it usually does get a pretty good resale. Offer 200 and see if you can get it.

Nice Tip Frizz. I'll have to look at it too. I paid $600 for a fully working T2 in 2000. Should've haggle since the bulbs are not working. Well I didn't know better back then. Still don't know any better now since I'm still buying games

Anyway, T2 is worth getting it.

You guys won't believe it, but I paid $75 for mine last year. It needed a monitor chassis, everything else worked. Please don't throw anything at me!! And I'm even a bonafide T2 fan so I couldn't have been happier!

That's in attract mode... no "hit" in attract. I did look on you tube and the one "real" video of gameplay also had burned out bulbs... I'll go video mine after I'm doing watching the Biggest Loser Finale and post it...

Ha - I had forgotten about the hit effect; most of the time when I played T2 in the arcade, those were not working!

Both my flashlamps work on my game not sure if they have ever been changed. How do you pull the board to see?
