Should be getting an upright System 1 + Temple of Doom in the mail soon and working on a Jamma harness / adapter for it.

The System 1 docs show a -15V line so my questions are:

1. Does IJ use this? I assume it's for sound. One post suggested -5v is within range.
2. I've heard you can run these on 12v / -12v instead of 15, is this correct?

Also:
3. Looks like I need to supply +12v to the reset line to make the game boot?
4. Will I need to implement an audio amplifier? I only have the main board and cartridge.

Thanks.

ATARI System I has line audio output (separate amplifier is required for sound (for example the Audio Regulator III which provides power as well)).

If you want to hook up a System I mainboard + System I cartridge on the bench then you can use +12V instead. Same with the negative voltage, use -5V.

Which mail company delivers whole cabinets? 🤔

Ok. Then I'll need to wire the output up to something like an LM386 to avoid using the AR board. Sorry when I said system I meant the PCB not the cabinet :) planning to make this supergun friendly.

If its line level, can OSSC add gain and amplify on its own then? Im fine to wire up a small amplifier circuit if necessary but if OSSC will amplify it i don't need to.

Does the "1" in the photo indicate pin 1 on the 12-pin molex, and if not can someone tell me where 1 is?

I presume the pins count like this:
1234
5678
9101112

Although I've seen some connectors counted vertically.

(In the orientation of the photo this means it would be counted vertically, however)

If the U is pin 8 then that's all I need.
