Has anyone ever reproduced a wiring harness for an upright Tempest?

I could be completely wrong, but I thought I saw it somewhere here in the forums but I can't seem to find it now.

I need to rebuild my connectors on my harness and I was of course looking for a shortcut.

Else, if anyone has a list of the required connectors and pin sizes to order from Bob I'd appreciate the help.

You should only need to replace the crimp split pins at the main edge connector. Wouldn't hurt to replace the pins at any power/ground wires. Any particular problems you're having? Harness hacked?

Intermittent issues such as:

  • Insert coin doesn't trigger player 1 and 2 lamps.
  • Random blinking pattern on player 1 and 2 lamps after insertion of coin.
  • Game booted up in German or French
  • Random resets

All of the above seemed to only manifest if the game was moved and could be fixed by wiggling and/or re-seating edge connectors.

Isn't there an interconnect cable on the Tempest board too?

I had issues with mine.. it would turn on, work fine for about a minute, then start resetting. I swore I had already addressed the interconnect, but...that's what it was. Since I thought I'd already done it, I kept thinking it couldn't be that, but it was never done - cracked solder joints, etc..
