FT - Game: Tempest upright (Ohio) for Gorf upright

Atari Tempest upright- great condition all around. Sides, front and control panel all excellent. Rebuilt monitor with low voltage protection and cooling fan. Main PCB and AR2 board rebuilt professionally. Board has developed a bit of an issue though, the levels don't display correctly. You can still play, but they're funky. See pics. Looking for $2000 as it, can remove monitor and would take $1200. Will swap partially working board for non working board and price goes down to $1000. Also willing to trade! Looking for any of the following:
Gorf
Cloak and Dagger
Sinistar
Time Pilot (dedicated)
Galaga 88
Donkey Kong
Astro Blaster (UR only)

Have you tried running self-test? That issue could be simple to fix.

(That opening level looks kinda neat all funked up like that. Does it actually play?)

Self test shows no errors. And yes, it plays, just looks wonky.

Wow, super weird. It's rare to have an issue that doesn't cause the board to reset, and doesn't show anything in self-test, and the board still works.

I'd love to see that one on my bench, and figure out what's up with it.

Could be an issue on the upper end of the stack in the VG? I had that once - but the VG would go blank and then come back. Now if there was a video...

Yeah, I'd be interested to see it play. (Though FYI to the OP, you really don't want to run a vector game when it's misbehaving like that, as it can easily blow the monitor.)

It sorta seems like the level table info is being corrupted. But you'd expect that would throw a ROM or other error. But it's not a simple VG or analog glitch, as it's doing the math to draw the 'wrong' level geometry correctly. However from the pic it looks like the yellow blaster is still being drawn according to the proper uncorrupted level shape, even though the level shape is being corrupted.

Anyway, super interesting. If anyone who buys this cab wants the board repaired, I or lilypad19 would love to look at it.
