MY tempest is "jumpy." The advancing enemies are unstable, vibrating quite a bit. Plus, the spikes and lanes are not at right angles. The game plays and has no other problems. Has anyone ever dealt with this problem? Is it a board issue or a monitor issue?

Any help would be welcome. Thanks.

There are adjustments on PCb that you can turn to deal with xy lines not matching up. Get a mirror or friend to watch screen and try that first.

Reseat edge connector on board second.

Full cap kit and lv2000 replacement on monitor third.

Welcome to the forum.
Sometimes it helps to put a clip on Youtube.com.
Then place a link on this site to the video.
Has the boardset or monitor ever been worked on?

Thank you. It's nice to have a resource like this.

It just started the other day and then it's happening sporadically. I was guessing it might be a common problem, possibly a connection and people would have experienced it. When it occurs again, I'll try and capture it.

I'm not sure if the boards have been worked on. I just picked it up, my first game, a few months ago.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks again.

John

One thing you can do is make sure all the connections are clean and tight..making good contact. Make sure all the roms are seated all the way down in their sockets.

I'm hoping an image can help with the diagnosis. Here's a screen shot. Again, any help would be appreciated.
